How to reboot (concise)

    Purpose
    Understand that fapping happens naturally when doing whatever feels good at the moment. This is why you can't see fapping as an isolated problem and ignore the rest of your life.
    Don't drift through the day. Act with purpose at all times, wheter working or relaxing.
    The book "Outwitting the Devil" has a lot of good advice on this.

    Determination

    You have to really want it and be fed up with wasting your life-force in the most disgusting way possible.
    Resolve to stick with it, even if things are going bad and your body aches and you are in emotional pain. Because your mind will conjure up the like to satisfy the addiction.

    Frame of Mind

    Let thoughts pass instead of fighting them. Acknowledge them, but do not judge or expand upon them.
    Don't act on urges. Feeling them is alright, but remember you are in control and do not have to act upon them.
    "Be comfortable with being uncomfortable." When you are in bodily pain, or feel sad or afraid, don't worry, that is alright. You do not have to suppress any of it, or make yourself feel better. Be comfortable with it.


    The above are must-haves, without which nofap is near impossible. Following are techniques that help. Choose some to do A) regularly, to keep the sword sharp, and B) as soon as the urges come up.


    Physical Exercise
    In whatever form. The most accessible are bodyweight exercises.
    It makes use of the excess energy from not wasting it on fapping. Which can be very helpful.
    Strengthening the body means strengthening the mind as well for men. Not only because it takes willpower to keep at the exercises.

    Cold Showers
    Are a test of courage and willpower and as such train both, and let you know, you are in control.
    They also have various health benefits.

    Socialize
    Go to where people are. Not only are you unlikely to pull out your thing there, it also fullfills a basic need which can be a reason for PMO.

    Meditation
    An exercise for willpower and centering yourself.
    May also help moving energy to higher planes/chakras.

    Relapsing
    Will rid you of many of the benefits of nofap, however you will come out stronger in mind and body than you were before you started.
    Don't let it get you down. Learn from your mistakes and get back on the horse as soon as possible. Doing so may be harder than the first time, as you are not numbed to the sensations.

    Very nice guide Immor! Thanks for sharing this with us!

    Yeah, I've realized the same thing - meditation, cold showers, and exercising everyday really goes a long way to helping manage the urges. A lot of people think NoFap is going to be a quick fix but it's a lifestyle change. You have to change your habits.
