I thought I would share sth that has worked for me incredibly well, my first time starting Nofap I made a bet with my friend over money, the bet was to go 3 months with no PMO, it was a success, the only success I had for about a whole year after that, I used to do 1hr meditation everyday and it certainly did help but I would always relapse, and my ability to hold my ground on nofap got weaker and weaker. I also did some hatha yoga for a while, they help, but not enough to keep you from burning with desire.

Recently tho I decided to experiment with kriya yoga, it's a more meditative style of yoga where you have breathing and energy exercises where you try to move the energy of your body to different spots along the spine and the head (very loose definition). it's a tradition that dates thousands of years back and needless to say, you wont find this in the gym.
Now I'm only practicing Maha Mudra and Kriya Pranayama along with preliminary stretching and breathing exercises, but this is what it took to really stride along the nofap journey effortlessly, I barely get any urges for porn or masturbation during the day, it's as if Kriya helps your body effectively absorb the sexual energy, I've been on nofap now for more than a month and it feels easier than ever, I think even the benefits that you get from nofap are amplified and more grounded through this practice.

Now a few words of warning, if you're gonna try this please do your research first, you cant just follow a youtube video or two, the least you can do is get a systematic and progressive step by step book ( I recommend Kriya Secrets Revealed by JC Stevens which is what im using along with several others), the best thing would be to find a genuine Kriya teacher. This is because if misused Kriya can be more harmful than useful (google premature kundalini awakening), it is after all meant for experiencing transcendental states of awareness and not nofap.

I hope this helps someone. Best of luck!

Yoga helps to loosen up myself. I feel less tension in my body, fap and yoga can't go together. One is a sacred practice other is being that animal nature of ego. I dropped the practice when I can't keep is sacred.

Want to really commit to practice .. then all this self blaming frustration and addiction will go away.

I don't know why you mean exactly by sacred, it doesn't have to be something exclusive for religious purposes only, but I agree that yoga (especially kriya) is not something to be used for nofap alone, that would be enormously under-appreciating the practice because it's effects and uses are waay more profound than just dealing with sexual urges.
But it still it is what made a shift in my nofap journey

This is why.. it's sacred, ancient, not attaching to any religion.

I have the same problem. Indeed, it was really difficult for me to learn to meditate. But really it is an interesting goal to overcome sexual attraction through yoga. I never thought about it. Indeed, the breathing practices that you are talking about are very useful and I also practice them. You are right that in a game you will not find any spiritual, profound meanings and philosophy of yoga. For such an experience, you need to read a lot of literature by yourself about chakra meanings and to go for the knowledge and inspiration to special secluded places in our land.

Yoga has helped me a lot in my recovery. I have done yoga for a while but since trying to give up on porn, I’ve been able to find new benefits and meaning.

Regarding chakra healing, this has been the most beneficial of everything I’ve been doing in porn recovery (and changing my life for the better in all aspects). I’ve spent the past month working to rebalance my root chakra through specific yoga and mediation practice, and I feel like a new, stronger person. I recommend “Understanding Chakras” by Cassie Uhl and “Chakra Healing” by Margarita Alcantara as a good staring point.

I am on day 59 which is such an accomplishment for me, but I need to get back into yoga. For what ever reason I did everything today but yoga.

I'm sorry to say but Yoga is not an exercise, its a mental and spiritual practice from ancient India, basically you opening yourself to spirits when you do those exercises. I don't recommend it to anyone especially knowing yoga classes are anything but good to prevent your temptation at looking at certain things XD... You probably know what i mean by that...

    @parnanu

I have read a lot about maha bandh/maha mudra and I am a firm believer that this has something remarkable benefits, something that can change your life forever. nofap is not even a tiny fraction of it. Anyways, i have been doing this for quite some time, however, I have a few issues...so I just wanted to know whether you had them as well or not:

    1. regularity, i do it for about 10-15 days then skip a day or two...that stumbles me up
    2. what time of the day do you do it?? I do as per the time available to me.
    3. the most important thing is, how many times do you do it, and for what duration. For example, I first inhale, then exhale, thereafter I start the timer, i average between 12 seconds to 18 seconds and I do these mudras again and again for close to 5-15 times.

how long have you been doing these and what are the other areas of your life that have benefited from this practise??

Sucha in interesting thread, thanks for starting it. I also do yoga, breathwork and meditation daily but it's the first time I hear of Kriya and I'll definitely look it up. Thanks!
