Whilst it's her choice and everything, I get the impression that if there was an alternative that paid as much she'd do that. In a way, she's deluded herself into thinking it's okay, when the reality of what she's done has consequences now and in her future. It's very sad that woman and men take this route to earn money. Regret will come later for most, I'm sure. You might get all the money you could ever desire, but your image and those acts will always be out there somewhere.

Fantastic article. I completely agree with her. Thank you for sharing it. :)

But again, WHY would she be possibly be regretful or apprehensive of this? Because it's porn? Or because of the absolutely overwhelming amounts of prejudice sex workers face from the general public? So many people focus too much on the former without looking in the mirror at themselves and the negativity pouring out of them to the likes of sex workers.

Speaking as a fellow sex worker, I can certainly say it is the responses from the "general public" I'm more afraid of than any shift I do, or have ever done.

People want to think it's degrading being a sex worker because of the performances. Ha, well, try being called "whore", "slut", "bimbo", "unintelligent", "low-life", "deluded" (and the countless of other terms used) by people who are NOT acting, but actually mean those things with a serious bitterness towards you as a human being. People can assume so much and care to know so little.

It is one thing to work in porn, and being happy to work on shoots you have happily consented to be a part of. It's another thing to then go back home and face degrading comments and actions from people. Social attitude towards sex workers, in my eyes, is the real enemy. My co-workers, my performances, my work peers, the things I am happy and consenting to pay my bills and live my life as I see fit, is not.

Which I do agree with you on that, there comes some consequences with becoming a sex worker. I'm happy that she is able to express herself freely, but I also feel that she doesn't realize that she helping with fueling the false reality that porn portrays to young men.
