Why I decided to finally sign up

    Today will be the last. I told myself a thousand times. We’ve all been there before. I’ve decided to join the NoFap community because I’ve come to realize that if I don’t seek help with this addition I’ll never be able to break it. It started around the age of 18 and around 21 it became really serious. I’d never had sex before due to a highly religious upbringing that taught me that sex before marriage would bring eternal damnation. That totally destroyed my viewpoint on sex and turned me into the addictive world of porn. It’s been 8 years and I’ve only slept with girl in my life because of the excessive porn and masterbation. I’ve tried having sex with 5 other girls since that time but couldn’t due to ED which has been the most depressing part of it all. I’ve lost so much confidence in myself and feel like I blow it everytime I get close to a girl because I know I might not be able to satisfy her sexually. I am beyond ashamed and just don’t want to feel like this anymore.. Please help

    Welcome! Just wanted to take a second to say good luck! There's a lot of great resources here. Great stories, great articles and videos. It's not easy, I've been struggling with this and trying to quit for a while now... but it will be worth it. I guess the most important thing here is: You're not alone. I've been in very similar situations where my porn addiction has desensitized me so much that it keeps me from being intimate in real life. Its embarrassing, its depressing (like you said), but just signing up is the first step towards helping yourself. Come to this place and post when the urges are really bad. Become involved ad connected here posting on others stories. And as I said good luck!
