Why does everybody want to live in either California or New York so badly?

Yeah, i got paintball too, i don't think there's much i don't have. At least i can't think of anytying

 

Can I ask you what town or city do you live in? I'm interested to look it up on Google Images and see what the place looks like.

 

Well, i live in Westland, but Canton is where all the best action is and its only about 10 minutes away

 

They definitely want to live there because of the fun. I see states like California and New York as a place for vacationing but not for settling. I would much rather settle somewhere quiet.

 

Mate, there are cities in the US that people have barely heard of and there's hundreds of thousands of people, tons going on and even skyscrapers. I love the idea of that.

 

California is great to live only in select areas, and it's expensive. New York is boring, NYC=boring. There's to many better cities it there

 

Pretty much like Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Marine, and Oregon, that's what I prefer.

Also, inexpensive > expensive

 

To be honest, I've only been to 6 out of 50 states but there is plenty to do in most states. You can find plenty of stuff to do in the states that aren't California or New York. California is becoming worse and poorer because of the high cost of living and population, whom we all agree about. One of these days people will realize that life in the Rocky Mountain (Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho) easier and you can still do things and can dig the cold weather.

 

I'd like to live in Austin, Texas, or Melbourne, or several other places.

 

I live in Australia, and one of the best things about it is that it's like California.

I was watching a Netflix documentary World War II in Color - which takes a whole bunch of actual footage of WWII and colorised it, with commentary. Great doco. Anyway I got to the episode about the Manhattan Project, which was the building of the atom bomb, and there was a scene of workers at one of the plants getting of a train and going through the turnstiles, in California, in around 1944. And I had this really strong flash that those people - the way they dressed, the kinds of buildings around them - defined my own sense of who I am. Such is the impact of California on the modern world.

 

Maybe they couldn't afford it?

 

Believe it or not, there are places in California that are cheap to live in. They’re just not as desirable to people. I’m sure it’s the same thing with New York.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and it’s ridiculous. But up and down the San Joaquin Valley there are places that are affordable. Unfortunately those places are blazing hot in the summer. Freezing cold in the winter. Also they’re infested with meth heads and gangs.
