Sorry, but I've had it with the "objectification" movement here on NoFap.
People NoFap is about quitting porn and/or masturbation.
It is not about not "objectifying" people. If humans didn't "objectify" other humans we wouldn't have people mating. It is human nature to "objectify" people for sexual pleasure. The problem is watching porn as there is scientific research to why porn is bad, and there is personal experience to why excessive masturbation is harmful.
But there is NO evidence that "objectifying" people is bad or causes PIED, Brain Fog, Social Anxiety, desensitization, etc.
As a 20 yr old male, it is my duty to objectify females because I am very attracted to them. Not "objectifying" people is like telling a starving man, who's high on marijuana to not eat that bag of chips. It just doesn't work.

Quit porn and masturbation, not "objectification".

It is still possible to regard someone has a human being (instead of an object), i.e., recognize that they are sentient creatures with emotions and intelligent thoughts who should be respected and treated as equals -- and still enjoy sexual encounters with them.

So you're gonna eat that bag of chips anyway? After I told you not to? I'm shocked!

Seriously though, I won't get on your back about objectification, largely because I'm not exactly perfect myself in that area. Besides, our sexual desirability is part of who we are. That said, it's important to control yourself here too. My experience has been that when I've been staring too long at attractive women, I've often found myself relapsing soon after. So while I won't say that it's "wrong", I will ask whether it's something that will help us give up porn.

Well...for me objectification means viewing someone as a sex object and seeing them as a means to fulfill your cravings which mainly involves carnal feelings...

I think porn involves objectification, you watch something, some woman doing something and your brain functions in such a manner, that it believes you are involved in copulation...thus you objectify the person involved..and that results in the dopamine surge...without objectification, porn cannot exist..

Like you've mentioned, it is human nature to objectify people for pleasure....but people are not mere objects... they are more than just machines that perpetuates our race...

I'm a 21 year old male, and I do objectify woman... sometimes I cannot help getting physically attracted to a pretty woman, but merely viewing them as objects in a sense blinds us...because it is the character, personality and nature of the woman which ultimately makes her beautiful and attractive...

you limit yourself to choosing a woman merely by the way she looks, your relationship would be almost entirely physical, and eventually you would end up feeling crappy...but you try to go beyond objectification and understand the person as a person, and not an object, you'll see something special, a kind of deep understanding and your relationship would be a kinda spiritual and fulfilling...I can't explain that because I never been there, but it would certainly be wiser to view people as a person rather than object..

And I don't think it is a "duty" to objectify woman...its all upto you, its a personal choice!
    Have a good day brother!

I beg to differ. This is a modern problem! A blog set up by New York stand-up comic Marcia Belsky has shone a light on a disturbing movie poster trend that’s been happening for years. Using countless examples from Hollywood history - recent and older - the Tumblr blog shows that movie posters featuring women will often only show their bodies, but not their heads or faces. “The project,” The Headless Women of Hollywood explains, “seeks to bring attention to the still standard practice of fragmenting, fetishizing and dehumanising the images of women we see in film, TV, book covers, and advertisement.” “By decapitating the woman, she becomes an unquestionably passive object to the male gaze.” “DAMNIT, HOLLYWOOD!!! WE WANT HEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,” they conclude. If you click below there maybe soft pore corn subs.

First of all, stopping objectifaction and being a "white knight" are two different things. A white knight is objectifying as well, the difference to the objectification in porn being that he's not looking down on her but putting her on a pedastal instead. The way he is figuratively creating an altar for her is a fetish, too, I'd say. (I hope I get the term "white knight" right. There is no similar term in my language.) He doesn't want to own the woman, but he wants to lose himself inside of her. The healthiest approach is certainly to start viewing women as what they obviously are: Human beings like you and me, with individual personalities, with flaws and with feelings. Treat them the way you want to be treated as well.

Secondly, I think porn is a symptom of our oversexualized consumer society, and quitting porn can be a great step in overcoming this conditioning. People claim they need to have sex with women because their genes want to have children, but when the woman actually gets pregnant they'll run away. This sounds pretty fishy to me. Of course you can go out and have sex as much as you want... it's just that what I learned from having casual sex is that it doesn't get me anywhere.
