What position is best to sleep in?

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Oct 31, 2017.

  1. I sleep on my side. I feel like is bad for you though. Perhaps on my back

  2. Each position can have something bad, but it really depends if you have something like acid reflux. I know sleeping on your stomach isn't good for you.

Doctors have told me if you sleep on your side, you should put a small pillow between your knees and slightly bend them to keep your spine aligned. Sleeping on your back is okay, I normally don't have issues with it but I prefer sleeping on my left side.

Might depend on your mattress. Side plus a pillow between your knees and the right head pillow could be totally fine on a memory foam. Depends on the person, anyways. Are you having symptoms from lack of good sleep?

For acid relux you need to sleep on a Pillow wedge. Its stop the acid from going to the throat.

For healthy people, sleep on the left side, where the heart is.

Ive always slept on my stomach, because the sound of my own breathing usually doesn't wake me up then.

Back. As Sarah wrote above, you really want to make sure your spine is straight, particularly if you have back issues. The easiest way to ensure this is to sleep on your back.

  9. i read the best is to sleep on your sides....less rotation in your sleep is better.

  10. I tend to sleep on my left side the most cause of acid reflux but during the night acid tend to fade so I sleep in all kinds of positions I move I lot when I sleep, so guess the answer to your question is it depends on the person. like an example someone who is extremely obese cant sleep on their back or there stomach cause of breathing issues, someone with acid reflux has problems sleeping on their right side, people with a certain heart condition cant sleep on their back.

The reasoning for me why it depends on the person is cause all the ways we lay in bed have can have positive and negative outcome on our bodies, like me I sleep a lot on my left side it will put more strain on my organs. There are some positions that are worse like sleeping on your stomach cause it will make your spine be in a unnatural shape that could cause lower back pain as well as neck strain.

So the best position is the one that fits you.

I think it mostly depends on what is located under yourself. For example, if you sleep in the forest in a sleeping bag, so then straight position suit better here, same as a hammock :emoji_evergreen_tree:. But when you sleep on the mattress, here you can lay as you like, because there is a plenty of free space!:emoji_sleeping:
Feel free to check this review and find the best mattress suited for you!

  12. I think the best is to sleep on your back. I wish I could hang a hammock in my room. Apparently, hammocks are very good for your back and they are used daily in a lot of regions such as south america in the amazon.

  13. That's strange, I've never heard that before. It's always best on the left side if you have acid reflux as doctors say, because the esophagus doesn't get too relaxed in that position unlike the right side which can end up opening it.

  14. I always sleep on my back cause it's the most comfortable. I used to sleep on my stomach. I heard sleeping on your sides can put pressure on certain organs.

  15. It's best to sleep in whatever position you can get the most restful sleep.

  16. Back. On the floor. Saying it can cause acid reflux is nonsense. Like its so easy to fix that. youre seriously weakened immitarily if you have nonsense like that or snore...caused by inhuman fat levels.

Basically if you cant sleep on your back you have handicapated yourself!

And for wet dreams, on right side, right leg straight, left at 90 degrees or somewhat bend, left arm at about 45 degrees, rested naturally. Its the clinching the feet in that pose that close off the lower centre. For males at least, don't know about females. Any females on here want to try urinate with feet closing the centre?

In general; if you sleep on the side, long term on left side puts pressure on heart and squashes it. I mean whatever physical exercise you do, i dont any of it moves your heart more to the centre, loool. So yh like doing bridges on your neck only, you dont wanna stress this stuff.
With that said I forgot if the side you sleep is stimulated or the one left free and i cant quite tell from my experience. But right side has the liver. It helps process nutrients and overall metabolism. The other side is for digestion. So you get the benefits of which you stimlate.

As for sleeping on stomach I find it weird for neck. So i cant imagine any possible 'benefits', nor know any.

  17. Something else for nofappers struggling to beat the 1 week mark. You probably look like masturbator from distance. Avoid pillows so you can grow a atraight neck and not one if those virgin looking 45 degree necks lol. Since I improved my natural angle I find it reaaaly weird when I see others with necks forward. I just wanna chop them off faster when I see them.

  18. I sleep on my stomach with the pillow on top of my head. This way my spine is straight and I block all outside noise.

  20. It isn't a mental illusion. Blood vessels, muscles and bones actually shift into place. That is why people who sleep on back witha high pillow have neck forward. Their blood vessels have moved a little inside their neck and upper body. I felt them reshift when I took the pillow out.
