Just wondering what it took everyone to final realise, research and take the leap for NoFap?

For myself, it was losing the girl I've been with for 2 1/2 years. Purely through my own attitude, lies and bad moods. I treated her like a sex object, she did not deserve that. And all though I know that we can never repair the damage I caused, I'm doing this not only for me, but for her too. Just in hope that I can sort it out with her one day. It's a pipe dream but I'm not going to give in. I'd be happy to hear how everyone else came here.

Hi Mark, same story. Because of porn addiction, I reached a point where I could not O during sex. So, porn had to go. Now, porn free, I O during sex. Now my wife knows she is my sexual outlet, not pixels on a screen. Because porn has no value, giving it up cost me nothing. That said, due to the addiction, it was difficult to give up. But I can do difficult. Like anything, difficult becomes easy if you practice it enough.

    Good luck on your journey.

I've always dealt with difficult pretty well, if it's not hard, it's not worth doing haha. Just reading through your post, I've only ever had O during sex twice. In my life. But I have been addicted since about 14. Just hope I can sort that out

Hi Mark,I hope you can too. I feel sorry for you, and by "you" I mean all the young guys who became addicted to porn before they had experienced real sex. For you, your first sexual experience was porn. It was fake sex, but sex. Gary Wilson says it's harder for the younger guys to break the addiction. Be aware of that, but be aware the addiction can be broken. Sex with a real woman is not easier than porn, in fact, it is harder. It's harder because it's not just about immediate gratification, about immediate release. It involves an emotional commitment that porn does not require. It involves some sacrifice that porn does not require. But...it's good in a way porn can never be. Porn won't ever tell you it loves you, porn won't ever cuddle with you in the dark at night. Porn never wants to know your secrets, and even if it did, you could never tell it those. For all of us, there comes a time when we have to grow up, to become a man in full, as they say. Giving up porn is like stepping into the ring of life; you have to get out of the seats and be ready to throw a few punches and get hit a couple times. You have to be prepared to lose a round here and there, and be ready to win some too.

Good luck Mark, hope you make it to this side of clean.

Had an really busy week or so and I literally didn't have time to fap. During those 7 days I was extremely wired up , full of energy and doing all the things I had to do - no procrastinating.

So obviously when I was done with it ,after about 10 or so days , I PMO'ed the first chance I got and I immediately fell back into laziness and exhaustion. I really didn't understand why all of a sudden I'm feeling completely unmotivated so I started looking up testosterone , masturbation , porn and it's effects.

It's weird isn't it. Good for you though mate. It's just so odd that it's not a question that a doctor asks men these days, during counselling etc. It's like all of us who are quitting are doing a good deed for medical science haha.
