Wet dreams are killing me

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Ray Breslin, Jun 26, 2015.

  1. I know a lot of people say that wet dreams are the body's natural way of releasing built up sexual tension but i don't agree with that since i never had any wet dreams before i started jacking off and even after it for quite some time until i screwed my physical condition by fapping.I also know a lot of people who don't have them at all.I read somewhere that they occur due to weakness in the parasympathetic nervous system from excess fap and concluded that the natural thing happens very rarely (I may be wrong).
I have been having wet dreams waaayy to frequently for the past 2 years (possibly more during any nofap streaks, ever since i started this challenge i have been having them on an average of twice-thrice a week) .They drain me physically and mentally, i feel they setback the body and mind's rebooting process. After them i also feel more vulnerable to PMO although i've grown immune to that feeling now. They are like a double edged sword.Due to it have no libido at all or little libido which makes nofap easier. I realized this lately and I feel as if i am not really doing the challenge or really rebooting.I once did a 10 month hard mode streak and had so many wet dreams during the entire period that i did not really feel any physical difference and hence, eventually relapsed.I know how important the sperm's reabsorption is to the body's health and want to avoid any waste to grow stronger and full of vitality.
I had tried a dodgy medicine during my previous 105 days needless to say it had no effects.I also tried one that are those health supplement ones that contains ginseng,it did make me feel stronger but i relapsed after i think i had a wet dream the previous night during the 105 streak. It too did not cure the problem even though it was one of things it was supposed to be doing.

I delved into some history.I checked out my wet dreams calendars from past and this year and got some really bad news

    Interesting facts:
    • I had 23 wet dreams last year from July to December 2014(These are only the ones i kept track of,since my keeping track system was in development which i had started from July 2014)
    • This year, from January 2015 to present date i have had 34 wet dreams. This means I've had 57 wet dreams from last year (These are the ones accounted for)
    • The frequency per month has only increased. It was 10 times last month and it is 7 times already now.Twice I had them in the afternoon.
    • I'm having way more wet dreams than i am jacking off!

I told my woes to a doctor and he says that wet dreams have no bad affect and the weakness is just in people's head.He gave me some nutritional supplement and some medicine for gut health but i'm still not very hopeful.I can't take cold showers as i will get ill and my family are gonna think i'm nuts.I'm going to try the wear loose clothes thing too but i remember having the night emissions even when i used to before.

Last resort i'm looking at this medicine :http://www.nfcurecapsules.com/ but they're really expensive and i don't want to try some random stuff but i'm really desperate..

I really don't know what to do,i feel like i'm going crazy.

Wow, that's a lot. I had wet dreams when I started puberty, not that often, but they stopped once I started to fap. In my previous best ever nofap I went 45 days and then had a wet dream (I was dreaming about porn) and it set me back massively.

I don't know how you can stop them, other than having regular sex but that isn't a helpful suggestion in the short term.

Can you recall what you dream about when it happens?

I had maybe 8-10 around puberty age. But can't remember any recently, even during 30 days nofap.

One variation on pure cold showers is what's called 'James Bond showers'. That is, you take a hot shower and turn the water to cold right at the end. This would minimise your chances of becoming ill from cold showers. They really are good for preventing any potential arousal immediately after, as your genitals seemingly shrivel up to nothing! ;) This may help for reducing the number of wet dreams you have.

Another thing I've noticed in the past is that I was having less wet dreams when I was doing intense cardiovascular exercise (for me it was running). I'm not sure if there's a correlation, but it may make sense that exercise would reduce a build up of semen... Not sure on that one though.

I haven't heard of anyone who has that many wet dreams on a regular basis. I agree, they do take energy away from you. I hope you can find a solution.

I mean can you recall the subject of your dreams: is it sex? Dreaming of porn? Someone you know? Not sexual at all?

  9. A few times it was any sexual stuff but a lot of times there was nothing and yet when i woke up i find it to have happened. They're hijacking my reboot!

  10. What i actually meant is my family's going to think i'm nuts if am taking a shower every night before sleeping.I do run a lot and have found them to make me strong but barely helpful in this area..

What's wrong with taking a shower at night?

  12. Nothing except that it would strike them as odd.No one showers here at night.Besides it's not a permanent solution is it?

    you could try this:

Take cold hip baths by sitting in a tub of water and keeping the legs outside the tub. This is very invigorating and energising. A cold hip bath tones and soothes the nerves of the genito-urinary system and stops nocturnal discharges in an efficacious manner.

  14. Perhaps this is of use: I noticed early on in nofap that I could suppress my sexual thoughts. I would simply be vigilant and jump on them and snuff them out the instant they appeared and it became so habitual they actually would disappear for a while... but then they came back as erotic dreams... very close to wet dreams but at the point of O I would wake up. I believe what I was doing was actually suppressing my sexuality and so it just moved over to my unconsciousness. I don't do this anymore and haven't had an erotic dream in years...

I had a wet dream last night, on day 28.

The positive to take from it though is that I wasn't dreaming about porn or anything erotic, it wasn't a sexual dream at all. I did have some urges yesterday though but managed to resist, I'm wondering if this is what caused it?

Last time this happened I relapsed and gave up but this time I'm going to continue and try even harder. My goal is to cut porn out of my life which I've managed now for 4 weeks with no O at all so I'm getting there, it's just frustrating when your body takes over and you can't stop it!

I've always wondered if it happens to others, but does any of y'all get your sperm stuck while you O in a wet dream? I don't know if it's my foreskin blocking a way out or if it's my boxers doing it, but I wake up at the exact moment of O'ing in a wet dream because it gets backed up. It's a freaking scary feeling to go through, one of the most unpleasant things ever experienced in life. Luckily though, I haven't had a wet dream in forever, but now that I'm no PMO, I feel them lurking at my door...

OP, do you consistently remember what you dreamt all night? Just trying to get a handle on the unexplained wet dreams that you say you wake up to. I looked into that prospect on Google a bit and only really found a pay-to-view research paper on the subject, which is referenced in this post: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/dream-catcher/201109/sex-dreams

I would suggest looking into lucid dreaming (of course I would... just look at my name!). In a nutshell, it has helped me realize *that* I am dreaming by being more aware of my surroundings and noticing inconsistencies. Thus, if you haven't watched P in a while or haven't had sex, if you are aware enough in your dream state, you may question why you are suddenly in the middle of the act. That can lead to realization that you are dreaming, and the ability to end the dream or turn the situation into something different. You said you dream about non-sexual things yet it still happens, but a different approach to dreaming could be a step in the right direction. It takes practice and dedication, and but is useful for much more than getting rid of wet dreams. If you're interested, I suggest picking up a copy of Stephen LaBerge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" or looking into Dream Views forum online.
