Video game addiction is now being recognized, why don’t they recognize porn addiction?

  1. I agree with you, the problem is in our mind, not in the video games. I'm also trying to cut them, because me too had used them as a form of escapism. But we don't get addicted to simples games, like checkers or sudoku, we get addicted to the cool fps and mmorpg with all their nice graphics and leveling things.

  2. For me I do really enjoy games and will continue to do so, I just have stuff I should be doing so I’ll have to do a timed schedule or something. To be fair I’m not addicted to the mechanics of games and rather it’s because I grew up with no dosh, and I used them as a distraction from my anxiety and depression ever since.

    Obviously there are others that are addicted to gambling like loot boxes or what have you, but instead of labelling things we should be finding our core problems and attack it at the root, whether it be from depression or say a pain in our life. There’s always a reason someone uses something in an addiction, same goes for porn regardless of how rubbish it is.
