using pills as a stop gap??

Discussion in 'Porn-Induced Sexual Dysfunctions' started by jobbyj, Apr 8, 2018.

  1. hi all,

i have been fighting my battle for a number of months now. and now regularly have 5/7 day stretches nofap, but then have say a 1 day binge - so i am getting closer but not quite there. longest stretch has been 15 days.

i have PIED, and know that if i use pills it works. now, given how this journey is affecting my confidence / mood, i was thinking of using pills to "be with" my wife. as a stop gap.

i can see both sides of this argument, but thought i would open up to others views?

    thanks

  3. Beware of the Chaser Effect - where for a day or 2 after one orgasm, you really want more.

Otherwise, it seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea ... it might be good for the relationship.... unless you become/remain dependent upon those pills ....

Does your wife know about your addiction and what is causing you PIED? If not that’s your first step to recovery. Pills are just a bandaid fix and while they may work temporarily they eventually will fail, because your issue is not a physical one, it’s a mental one. And it will likely cause DE for you, which is quite horrible for the female partner. I kmow my ex had it. The solution is to stop the porn for 90 days. You are giving yourself a pass to binge every week or so, and justifying said “pass” with you will just use a pill to have Sex. You do not appear to be truly ready to quit imo. You may even need to do 90 day hard mode, and when you tell your wife you can discuss this too. I kmow this is a struggle for you, but it’s hell for the SO especially if she’s being lied to. Don’t use pills, fix the problem.

  5. my answer above was shallow. You're married - you need to stop using porn. it's a bomb waiting to explode.

I use the pills. ED is a real thing. It’s caused by a decrease in blood circulation. So anything that impacts circulation can especially effect the penis, because an erection is a factor of blood flow to the penis. Not all of it is PIED. It can be caused by heart disease, diabetes, certain meds, peripheral vascular disease, obesity, or a sedentary lifestyle. But it can also be caused by porn, especially when it occurs in younger guys without any of the other risk factors. However you won’t know to what degree yours is PI until you give NoFap a good try. Mine was more PI than I wanted to admit. In fact I never even knew PIED was a thing until I discovered YBOP. I thought all older men had ED. It was only after I tried NoFap that I began to see some improvement. The normal dose of V is 50mg. I was taking 100mg and seeing very poor results. I could get hard but almost as soon as I entered I went soft and usually could not cum. Sex was a chore for both of us and left neither of us satisfied. Within 2 weeks of starting NoFap I began to notice improvements. Now I take 20mg and have very good results. I stay hard and can cum in a reasonable timeframe. It’s some of the best sex I’ve ever had in 45 years. I still can’t do without the pill. I’ve tried but I’m not there yet. I hope to do without at some point, but it may never happen due to factors besides P. Also I hated the side effects of the drugs: hangover, sinus congestion, next day wood, upset stomach, back ache. I’ve had them all. But since I cut way back on the drugs, the side effects are hardly noticeable. Give NoFap a try. Many on these forums can testify to the results.
