Hey, I am Reese and I am 16 years old. These past two years I have been especially addicted to pornography and had been curiously experimenting with it the prior two years. The most I have probably gone without masturbation in the past year is two weeks. I go to a private classical Christian school and I love it there, being a Christian who strongly believes it to be the way of truth whilst living a hypocritical life causes me immense guilt and self-frustration. I would be lying if I said I did not enjoy the climax of masturbation, but so much of me hates it with a burning passion. I realize the truth of its destruction, and knowingly succumbing to it often feels like I am doing acts against myself as a person. Like the idiot I am I did it this morning and I dread the laziness it gives me the whole day, in an attempt to feel better I decided I just want to cold turkey quit, and I have tried that before, but I always come back to it in a moment of weakness. I came here in hopes of working through it with someone, because I realize how great of a tool accountability is. If you desire to, please add me in your prayers, my name is Reese. Just because of my Christianity I won't shutout anyone here who is mutually working to the same goal, but it would be encouraging to hear from fellow Christians aswell. Please feel free to offer me starting advice for those of you who are nofap veterans, I really want to conquer this and could use all the help I can get.

Hello, Reese! I'm Brent. We have a long history of success here at NoFap, so you came to the right place. I'm a christian, too. James 4 says that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to us. Have you tried fasting? it's a Biblical concept; Jesus fasted for 40 days. If you fast, your mind will be occupied with feelings of hunger, so it will be almost impossible for lust to sneak into your mind. Once you get past a week without pornography/masturbation, it gets much easier. It's getting to the point of 7 days that is difficult.

I'm praying for you, my brother. Be active in prayer, especially if you intend to fast.
