I see a lot of people on this site talking about the so-called superpowers which they get after abstaining from pmo. I just wanted to tell you from experience and just from common sense, that the ‘super-powers’ which people believe they get aren’t necessarily superpowers, but is how your brain would optimally be functioning if you did not start watching porn, indulge in masterbation etc.

The brain is a very complex organ and people don’t realise how the brain gets affected due to porn. Many different neurotransmitters which are meant to make us feel good are being sent into the brain due to excitement we get from porn, and because of the excess indulgement in porn use, the baseline of these neurotransmitters goes down, which is hence the reason why some may feel down.

The so called superpowers are the way normal humans feel. This is how we as males should feel. Porn has just numbed our brains, and gradually because of this, and we may not have realised it, our optimal performance in our brain has diminished.

Nice post and I would agree, but you have to look at binging and the side effects of that versus just one fap and done and how that effects you and your brain. I think if you just fap once, it's still a negative, but it's just not as bad as binges and doesn't impact you nearly as much. Even with the chaser effect, just one and done is the way to go for relapses. Just my two cents. Not that I'm saying relapses are good, by any stretch, they're not horrible either. But they are bumps in the road. Everyone has occasions when they stumble and fall, it's a part of life. Letting your relapses get you down just leads to negativity and consequently more relapses. Stay strong, have hope, this fight is possible to win, you just have to keep working at it.

To be honest with you, I don't think it's possible to 'recover fast'. We all have our own individual rate for recovery, but recovery takes time and effort. There's no fast forward button for real life, unfortunately, so we're stuck in the present. If you put in the work, you get the results. You HAVE to put in the work otherwise there will be no results. In this case, the work is abstinence from pmo. Even if you abstain for a week, that's a week's worth of progress made. If you fail and relapse, it just means that, as long as you don't binge, you have set back your recovery only a little. The longer you abstain, the better, but as long as no binging takes place, relapses are not detrimental to the overall reboot. At least from what I understand.

  5. Guys do you feel if one MO's once every 15 days as opposed to having a 90/120 days reboot, will it still work?

(To be more specific I'm having a problem with DE, and it's not porn induced )

I'd really appreciate you opinions ..

I don't really think it would be good. You still have a lot of unhealthy sexual activity/bad habits going on with that rate. I'm not saying that you HAVE to END PMO FOREVER RIGHT NOW, but begin the process of slowly giving up pmo in your life. It takes time and practice and a willingness to learn and also to fail and relapse and also the strength to pick yourself up when you do. This is a slow and steady process that takes time and energy. Look at it this way, if you weigh 290 pounds and you want to loose weight, would it still be acceptable to pig out at McDonald's 2-3 times per month? I don't think so, but that's just me.

No, I'm just saying this is a long process that takes time. And we all have occasions when we stumble and fall. Nobody's perfect except for Jesus.

  10. Thanks man.. really liked the example!

Always happy to help, dude. :) Anyways I wish you and everyone else on this thread the best of luck with NoFap. It's not an easy journey but in this case, I think it is about the destination more so than the journey itself. Though the journey is a large part of it.

  12. So your saying we go back to our natural state.

I find benefits from 4-5 days, imagine what 30+ would do hey.

I think it takes days to replenish after PMO. Maybe weeks. I'm trying to do 90 days with a 30 day milestone.

At day 5 of doing nofap I was feeling like a king, honestly....

Sad because I've probably never felt proper in my adult life due to excessive porn use and masturbation.
