TOP TIPS TO QUITE PORN

    It has been two years, I have quite porn. At first when I started warching porn I was not having any guilt at all but as I came to know how ADVERSELY porn affects the persons life, I started to control myself. At first It was extremely hard to quite porn but finally I was successful. I took around 2-3 months to come out through this addiction. Below are few tips one can use for completely coming at of porn:-

    1) Do not believe on your will power for 21 days. Since it requires only 21 days of abstinence to break any addiction or habit, completely remove the sources from which you were able to watch porn.

    2) Then make a commitment to YORSELF. Write a letter for doing so or you can make a video for the same. Then stick a pic of the person closest to you. For whome you would like to leave this addiction.

    3) The first day would be the smoothest. But difficulty level will keep on increasing as your days pass by. Keep the target day (21 st day) clear in your brain. Keep thinking again and again that only some more days then I would be free from clutches of this monster.

    4)Never feed the monster let it DIE. The monsters hunger will keep on increasing as the day pass. Thus make sure that you have completely CUT DOWN the sources from which you were watching porn.

    5) Inspiration and motivation. This very important for strength and power to overcome the addiction. Download the motivational videos(NOT THE BAD ONES) in handy and in interval of three days watch a video to boost up ur moral. Some sources are :-

    6) No junk food. Try eating healthy and nutritious food. This will supply energy to you r good soul to fight from the monster. Do exercise and yoga to keep yourself stronger.

    7)REWARD your self with a candy each night and congratulate yourself for the performance you have have done that day.

    8) Maintain journal for each day and just write about your true inner feelings of the day. Do this for 21 days and on 22 nod day read these journals.

    9) In the morning take refreshing bath and talk to yourself in front of the mirror.

    10) BELIVE IN YOUR SELF. A Nobel man said " In order to succeed the dezire for success should be much, much and much more greater than the fear of failure.

    These 10 steps can really help you leave the addiction.

    I think that you can't remove porn addiction in 21 days, or any other addiction in that short time.

    But i appreciate the positive mentality.

    You are a very positive man :emoji_laughing:

    Habit and addiction are 2 different things man. Completely different. It takes 21-22 days to change your habit, and it takes at least 365 days to say that you are not so addictive as before. But addictive pattern stays there until the self-acceptance is sorted in deep healing self-work. Otherwise, you are just living a sober life and you can become addictive back again very easily.

    Addiction is a wiring in the brain which takes a couple of years of being sober to rewire different way and it will be still fragile so you need to be careful even after you believe you got rid of it. What you talking about in your post is a habit, doesn't have anything to do with real addiction :emoji_thumbsup:

    People they had a difficult childhood regarding emotions have a big black hole in them and they need porn and masturbation as someone needs alcohol or heroin to fill that black emotional empty hole. That hole will be there forever until they realize they need to start to love themselves and accept themselves fully. People they are addicted have very strong emotional deprivation from not being loved unconditionally in childhood or not being loved at all. 21 days will not help in this case at all.

  9. It’s not easy that’s for sure. OP said 2-3 months for him but for me it was 8 months before I felt strong against the urges. The things he listed were true of me with some slight variations. I read some good books in addition to the videos.

    I didn’t see him mention one thing that was huge for me: Get involved regularly in healthy activities that you enjoy when you’re not at work. For me I’m regularly wall climbing, going on trips, and doing photography. If I’m not doing those things I’m planning them. There has to be something taking the place of the PMO.
     
  10. 21 days... is somewhat realistic. I gave up porn very easily. masturbation and even too much sex was the problem. to overcome. roughly its like 3 months without P, and 1 and a half month without O. Its best to get control.

    21 days is nonsense , it takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 9 months depending on the complexity of the habit formed and habits and addiction are only separated by a very fine line .

    You can't break addiction in 21 days!!! Where you have that nonsense from?? Habit yes but not addiction. Addiction stays in your brain forever and it could take even 2 years (for someone more or less) to weaken the impulses into a reasonable and manageable lifestyle. Otherwise well done to you! Keep going.
