I did read lube is needed if you have penile varicose veins but unfortunately all my research left me with more questions than answers. I just dont want it to suddenly get worse just like how it appeared SUDDENLY out no where!

Thank you for the answers btw. Its been a nightmarish few months and only in the last 2 I've started to feel better about my situation. Especially as my PIED symptoms are improving and the return of morning woods. I just feared for a long time that the new veins and the word CLOT appearing meant I could have physical ED or RISK future physical ED.

I know I'm fully capable of getting an erection now and having pleasure and orgasm, I just dont want my veins to get worse or cause organic ED, like if another clot happens for no obvious reason and it messes me up bad, like it burst or some how messes up the DEEP veins and veins that actually give the meat of my dick its life source.

I guess the penis is a very veiny thing. I was scared too when I saw a large blue vein accompanied by groin pain. But the vein itself didn't hurt. I just don't want to worry myself about those things anymore.

Okay thank you. I appreciate your patience with me. You must understand this can be terrifying for someone without knowledge on the subject. I did try to research it but came up fairly empty handed.

I got a suggestion. Take a real anatomy and human sexuality class. Reduces paranoia which is all too common on here.

    Hahahaha.

    Also I found this link
    http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-penile-thrombosis.htm

And I read on a few other medical websites. Weirdly my GP said I dont have thrombsis (he didnt even f***ing look at it!) but I suppose thats what I have. It said some guys take 5 weeks to heal, others 4 months (I managed to heal by about 3), so I guess that means I'm okay. It also says the only way they treat it is with asprin (blood thinner I suppose) and anti-inflammatorys for the pain. I never sought ANY treatment. I was foolishly too scared and afraid (I was coming down from drug paranoia too) so I never got treatments. I fear maybe I did damage to myself by not getting medications to deal with the blood clot and the inflammation..Oh well, I cant say there appears to be any serious adverse long term side effects now.

One bit of great news I read was that it's extremely rare for this event to reoccur so I guess that's a relief. If I just never masturbate again (unless its a fleshlight with lube) and stick to sex and not going at it roughly I should be ok...right, right!?

I just really hope the fact I didnt get treatment hasn't fucked me over some how.

Another thing I forgot to add; It says it resolves but what does it actually mean to RESOLVE? Does it mean pain goes away or does it mean the veins go away/return to normal? My pain is all gone but the veins are still there! Luckily they havent changed since the event occurred. I just dont know what to expect. Is it resolved/healed ONLY if the veins go back to normal or is it considered resolved when the pain leaves and I just have to live with the veins for the rest of my life?

"Supportive care was initiated, including a prescription for 50 mg of diclofenace twice daily, a 325 mg entericoated tablet of aspirin daily for anticoagulation, 200 mg of ofloxacin twice daily for prophylaxis, and heparin cream for local application for a period of 4 weeks as a result of which the pain subsided and induration disappeared. The patient was reassured of the benign nature of his condition and was instructed to refrain from any sexual experiences for this period."

So my pain is gone but the so called induration/s still exist!

Resolve means how it's fixed in medical terminology.

    "
Several methods of treating superficial thrombophlebitis of the dorsal vein of the penis have been proposed, none of which has been shown to significantly decrease duration. Anticoagulation with aspirin, heparin, or other antiplatelet agents will not expedite healing and is not necessary to prevent additional thrombosis. Currently, treatment is palliative for most patients. However, antibiotic therapy should be administered when cellulitis is suspected and vein stripping may be necessary for severe, persistent cases of Mondor’s Disease.[10] An injection of 0.5% bupivacaine hydrochloride subcutaneously in the region surrounding the affected vein has provided relief to patients who are in acute pain. Care should be taken to avoid injecting patients who have signs of infection, as this may exacerbate their condition. In the subacute and chronic stages, anti-inflammatory drugs and local heparin containing creams can be prescribed as was done in our case.[4]

Most cases resolve within 4 to 6 weeks, with re-permeabilization in 9 weeks. In persistent cases, surgery may prove necessary with a thrombectomy or resection of the superficial dorsal vein."

Turns out even with treatment it doesn't make any real difference to the healing process. So I guess my pain/discomfort is all gone but I still have these god damn veins. Can I ever expect them to go away? Do you think blood thinners would help me? What about L-arginine plus pcyengol? That stuff dilates blood vessels so I'm wondering if that could break up the clot or let it pass through...but if it passes through what if it ends up some where else and obstructs even more? Sigh...I'm grateful the pain is gone and the condition is highly unlikely to repeat but I just want to know if its not considered resolved/cured until the veins go back to normal :'(

Something else to consider, I'll just say, as a female.
Speaking to the OP - and I didn't read all the comments
    (possible triggers!)

That when you fap alot, or in stranger positions, you keep a certain inflammation, down there.
When you stop, you will notice more sensitivity and possibly more blood flow and the veins being more superficial...
Ever noticed when in a adult store the male anatomy toys being veiny?
    It's for females pleasure.
    Women like this.
You, men are supposed to be veiny when erect.
    It's pleasing, for the process.
So if it turns out nothing is wrong and you are going "back to normal" just let it be... If you are more (veiny) than you thought and it was a little more swollen, don't necessarily think of this in a negative light.
Please don't let this impede you on your journey to reboot.
    Good luck.

    heaven on earth likes this.

I dont care how it looks, I just dont want it to mess with my functioning (so far it hasn't but what if the clot gets worse or another one forms?).

Anyway, its likely it is a clot/mondors/varicose etc...so I guess my options are either wait for the vein to correct itself/clot vanish or i get a doppler scan and they assesses and decide with its necessary to move forward with further treatment.

also im not gonna let this stop me from rebooting, thats insanity! fapping the wrong way or too much or edging too often is what got me into this mess in the first place. im not at risk of abstinence induced problems anyway, i get morning woods frequently and have 2-4 wet dreams every month so things maintain themselves automatically anyway without the need for me to fap.

btw as i said before, my veins aren't thick and bulging like dildos, these are thin blue veins inside my penis skin. they aren't nice to look at. anyway i said before, appearance doesn't matter, i just dont want the clot to get worse or another one to appear.

  19. You are not a better doctor than your doctor. Don't self diagnose yourself. If your doctor says you don't have it. Trust him.

New superficial veins appear all over your body all the time. If your body feels like it needs to improve blood flow in a certain area then veins branch off.

I was an intravenous drug user some years ago before I got clean, and so I lost many of the major veins on my arms. Guess what happened? After being clean about a year or so, I got a bunch of new veins in their place. I now have more veins there than before, just smaller than the ones that used to be there. I've had a couple of smaller veins join on to those ones in the year and a half since then.

The appearance of new veins doesn't mean anything bad. When you masturbate, it's easy to damage the different smaller blood vessels in your penis, and just like what happened with my arm veins - when that happens you'll get several smaller veins in the place of the damaged vein.

If you've seen your doctor and he's told you not to worry, then you have nothing to worry about. Stop reading so much into some veins.

Mhm, except most GPs just google search symptoms nowadays and he DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IT! So how can he possibly know? All he came up with is "veins are normal" and ignored all my complaints about previous sudden appearance of pain and discomfort and the unusual sudden appearance of new veins. Doctors (especially GPs) are not infallible, so I'm going to have to strongly disagree with you on this one.

You may very well be correct on your later points but it's too much of a coincidence I had all the symptoms of mondors/blood clot in the dorsal vein. The pain and discomfort I had for the first month was horrific and the 2nd month was still pretty bad. I recovered from the pain at the typical time most people with Mondor's do and I can even see a tiny little (small than a grain of sand) clot in the dorsal vein. It's too much of a coincidence.

I really hope you are right but given all the evidence, I doubt it's just new veins appearing for no reason.

It is also possible I damaged a vein and the new ones appeared and took over so to speak, but I'm still 90% sure it's Mondor's disease. I tick all the boxes for it (and guess what, that's exactly how a GP would diagnosis me, by using google search engine). The only way to confirm the diagnosis is with a Doppler ultrasound.

Anyway, since I had the condition it hasn't impeded my ability to get an erection once at all but it did reduce to my sensitivity for a while and left me with penile numbness. Only in the last 2 and a half months has it started to return and normalise and all my wet dreams hurt for ages and only returned to normal recently. I wouldn't be surprised if the nerves where damaged by inflammation or I some how lost blood supply to nerve endings in my penis, despite being able to become fully erect, I still suspect something was damaged. Luckily nerves heal over 2 years and in 4.5 months I've made a decent recovery, so I'm not too upset about that, I just greatly fear a repeat of the event and then having my dick fucked up even more. I dont want another clot to happen or the current one to suddenly get worse and mess me up. This new tiny barely visible clot only appeared recently after a big wet dream too. So what if sexual intercourse flares up my condition even worse (supposedly it shouldn't but I know my own body).

I realise I'm ranting for nothing so the only intelligent thing to do is go get an ultrasound or at the very least get my GP to actually LOOK AT the veins this time.

P.S I also read Mondors CAN be painless sometimes and the only symptom I was missing was a pain on the veins and they didnt look swollen at any point. Although the dorsal and side left vein do look prominent. They are very thin and narrow (dorsal being the largest) but I swear they do almost rise out of the skin a little bit or rather they are enlarged slightly and are pushing up against the surface of the skin and are this visible.
