thin blue veins on penis?

since several months ago i spontaneously developed visible blue veins on my penis.

they are very noticeable under certain ligt and there's my dorsal vein (blue) which is VERY noticeable under any light, regardless if im erect or not. although it seems to look a little better when im erect. it starts off as a straight line going up the shaft torward the head then branches into two directions (left and right) on my head. it appears to be all in my skin btw, i cant see anything on my glans and if i shift my penis skin around the veins move with it. i read somewhere this is caused by a clot some where. i experienced a lot pain and discomfort very early when this happened but after about 8-12 weeks most of the discomfort went away and by 3 months nearly all physical symptom sensations went away and now 4months in the pain and discomfort are 100% gone. i could swear maybe i had some loss of sensitivity sensation during recovery but it seems to be steadily returning and im capable of having pleasureable masturbation and my wet dreams dont hurt/feel uncomfortable anymore and my orgasms seem to be back to normal as well (wet dreams).

anyway, im not too worried about sensastion anymore, its getting steadily better (improving) and sexual intercourse/masturbation etc feel great now but im more worried about the veins on my penis. why did they suddenly appear? are they something that will cause me physical dysfunction in the future? should i get a doctor to look at them? will i possibly need surgery one day to remove/tieup/fix a vein?

i also notice maybe a couple little blue ones on my foreskin but its mainly the dorsal vein and two branches that are really noticeable. also when im semi hard they seem to widen (dilate) but when im fully hard they constrict and look relatively normal!

im not sure what condition this is. it could be mondors or varicose veins but i doubt any thrombosis has occurred because and no point did the veins hurt to touch, became swollen or looked red or anything like that. 4 and a half months ago the pain and apperance of veins just came out of no where unexpectedly.

i used to be a once a day fapper and i did use a slightly odd technique but i dont think it would've caused serious harm to me.

i also doubt i have a venous leak because when i first started nofap my morning woods returned for first time in years with a vengeance and they were HUGE! like possibly the largest erections ive ever had in my life and they wouldn't go down very easily at all. then further into my reboot they vanished and only returned occasionally but never fully impressive like before. in the 3 weeks my woods have returned and are happening every night/morning now but most of the time they aren't fully engorged...its like being slightly harder than semi-hard, difficult to explain. like a weird bouncy boxing bag lmao.

also several times through out my reboot i feared physical dysfunction (blood flow) so i tested with porn and my erections seem fine and healthy, its obvious to me all my problems are dopamine/PIED related but i just really fear a lot over these blue veins. can anyone help me?

I have blue veins too and thin red ones. I guess they're pretty normal.

like little thin blue ones along the shaft and kinda on the head? (all skin btw, so i guess so called "superficial veins").

it just seems strange they appeared out of no where one day. ive always had a LITTLE blue dorsal vein visible but its now MORE visible and i can see it extend down most of the shaft where was before it was only less than half way. also theres one on the side of my penis (although most of the time it doesn't appear blue, i suppose the skin is either thicker there or the vein is deeper) and my dorsal branches off into two sections and theres a little curved vein bridge between my dorsal and left side vein although it weirdly doesn't appear to connect (i assume it does though). also the blue veins ive always had that i could see with my foreskin pulled back look much more intensely blue and a little more dilated.

again, i really dont think this impedes my ability to get and maintain an erection, it just looks ugly and I FEAR A LOT that it'll some how clot or get damaged one day then REALLY cause a big problem for me.

btw these aren't like the thick veins you see on dildos or porno dicks, these are blue veins that seem to be under the skin or within the skin..except the side vein ever so slightly rises above the skin, like a more conventional dildo vein but still no where near the same prominence and thickness you'd see on monster dicks like in porn or dildo models.

Leave it alone. No two dicks are the same

but don't you think its odd that they suddenly appeared like that? right around the time i had painful symptoms? (all gone now btw, thank god). i just dont want this to bite me on the arse later in life.

I'm not insecure about my size btw, functionality and health is what matters to me. I had no problems satisfying my ex gf multiple times in a night with my 5.2 incher lol.

If you are that concerned have it checked out by a doctor

    Sounds like a varicose vein.

If they think it is a varicose vein they may do an ultrasound to confirm it. Generally they reccomend extra lube during sexual behavior to protect it. No real known causes. They can also drain the vein but I'm not sure you want a long needle in your shaft which is how they drain it.

Maybe the pain was caused with too much masturbation that leads to enlargement of the veins. If you're feeling OK now then there's nothing to worry anymore. Keep your cool!

So I assume when they drain it it unclots it? Is there a risk with that procedure? Am I just better off leaving it alone?

They may also do a swab test for STDs as a precaution. They insert a cotton swab up your pee hole and scrap the sides for a specimen.

They would only drain if it was super serious. You do realize how painful that needle would be right? Even after they numb you the next day soreness would be murder.

You are possibly correct, the veins showed up 2-3 weeks after the pain started. The pain was at its worst for the first month (it was so bad I thought I was screwed forever) and the 2nd month it became more bearable and only noticeable in certain positions and if I exercised (like walking) but funnily enough, getting erections didnt make any difference to the pain/discomfort, but my wet dreams fucking SUCKED for the first 2 months and only in the 2nd month did I start to see improvements and now the feeling is back to normal.

Anyway, all the pain stuff is completely gone now, I can masturbate pleasurably again but I really dont want this varicose vein thing to fuck up and hurt me later on or mess me up in such a way it gives me organic ED.

It's NOT caused by masturbation. You don't get a small blood clot from wanking bro. It could be hereditary.

I've already been tested for STDs and it's pointless anyway because I haven't been sexually active in 6 years lol.

Also I don't care if they hurt me temporarily with a needle, so long as it means I never have to face physical erectile dysfunction such as venous leak or damaged nerves, fucked up veins etc.

It's a minor issue at best. Don't freak out.

Damn well that sucks...my grandpa has had varicose veins on his legs since he was a little boy but the veins on my penis don't look like the varicose veins you see on legs though, they are just these thin blue veins that kinda branch and the ones around my head are more faded (difficult to see) but they dont seem to connect to anything. Like I said, I don't care about superficial appearance, I just don't want organic ED.

It doesn't cause ED. Just use extra lube. Instead of freaking out do some research before going crazy. I understand it's your dick but still.

Funnily enough the veins themselves never hurt, all the burning and weird discomfort seemed to happen else where and it happened a week or two BEFORE the veins showed up. they never looked swollen btw. But I'm pretty sure the news veins are due to a clot somewhere. I just dont want it to clot worse (or suddenly unclot??) and fuck me up.

Did anybody on this site ever have a real sex education class?
