Hey, Guys and girls in the fight!
I'm going to share a trick that has been helping me a lot these days using the PMO-tracker efficiently.

First of all, I think it is important to understand the intention of the tracker. It is made for you to see your progress. Seeing that green bar filling a little every day makes you feel better with yourself than the day before, and this satisfaction slowly becomes more important to you, in a level than PMOing and screwing with your tracker is just not worthy. That's because now you won't just have that horrible sensation of "I failed again" for a couple of minutes of hours, but your beloved green bar will be gone, and with it all your days of struggle and hard work.

But after some weeks following this forum, I noticed some patterns.

There are lots of people that put absurdly high number of days as a objective, but constantly have just 1 to 3 days actually achieved, why is that? That is because you do not actually see any change in your tracker every day, 1 day in 120 is not really something you can notice, and even if you manage a week without PMOing you won't see your green bar moving that much. That gives you the false impression of time going slower.

On the other hand, putting 3 or 4 days as a objective is also not that good. Because as soon as you complete your easy challenge, your head will want to "reward" you with some of what you've manage to avoid for those days.

So what would be a solution?

My suggestion is: give yourselves a medium objective in the tracker, like one week or 10 days, but every time you are 1 or 2 days away of completing it, make a new one with the amount of days you already got and 7 days more to go. This take out the two problems that I described above, your progress will be noticeble as your bar will increase a good amount every day, and your brain will never "reward" you, because you'll always have a new challenge.
And every time you feel the urge of PMOing, take a look at your bar and think if it will be worth seeing it depleted after you're finished.

Well, that's how I've been hanging so far, it is obviously just a mind trick, but it has been helping me a lot.

Share any other tricks you have.

Sounds like you've figured out my trick. :)

That's what I've been doing every week. When I hit my goal I expand it out to another 7 days. Worked for me so far--almost at 4 weeks now! Glad to see you're making progress!

Yes, I believe that we must start with short goals. My goal is to reach 10 days, then another 10 days and so on. I don't think that "I will never PMO again" really works. It's better to say "I will NOT PMO today". We can borrow the slogan from AA: "One Day at a Time".

the problem with this idea is that once you get to lets say 30 days and you update your goal to 37, you already look like you have done 8 percent of your goal, which is good but the higher you go the less progress from day to day you see. this doesn't fix the problem of not seeing progress it just shifts it back a bit. but yes you already have a bunch of progress by that time to keep you going, so its not all that flawed of an idea.

That helps actually, I've reduced my 30 day goal to 10 for now until I beat the 10 day goal, when I do I'll increase it to 15 or 20. Thanks.

Here is another trick. I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure it would work.
So you know when you really want to relapse and you are about to search porn or whatever... well before you do that go on nofap and reset your pmo tracker before you pmo Then you will see all your progress disappear before you even relapse and hopefully that will dissuade you from pmoing. Then by the end of the day you can go back to your tracker if you didn't relapse and then reset your tracker so that it goes back to normal.
ex. you have 10 days then in the bar were you input a number and it says I last pmoed __ days ago, you put zero. Then you relapse or don't relapse. At the end of the day you go back and input 11 and your tracker should be back to normal

I think's a good idea, like travelling into the future and experiencing how would you feel if...
