The New Habit Challenge

    Ok I've gone off track already so I think I should start over, especially since I wasn't even counting off days since it should be 21 days straight.

    Rehab exercises: 1/21
    Porn addiction reading: 1/21
    Self improvement reading: 1/21

    Other:
    Walking 30 min 5 times a week 1/5 this week, and 1/15 total (3 weeks)

    One of mine and it's not even difficult but it's just that I've been losing track of if I have bought enough (cos I can only face filtered or bottled) is make sure my water is topped up enough. Not necessarily in the morning, it can be after work, but my one is to drink at least a 1 litre bottle of water a day. I felt tired today and then I realised, OK I DID go out last night but honestly I think I was a bit dehydrated. I only had one drink so it's not that and I had a glass of water, but today I had 2 so called "energy drinks" and a juice and it's not enough. I just drank a 250 ml bottle of water now and it did help. I had been relaxing, listening to hypnosis, still tired. So I think my 21 days thing is make SURE I have enough water bottles. Sometimes I buy too many forgetting I already have some. I know it sounds silly, but that's my thing. It will hopefully help give me the energy boost I am craving towards living the kind of life I want. Or it's one of them, anyway.

    Cold showers 1/21

    Kept going for walks until saturday, hurt my leg playing voleyball, didn't realize how many days passed since I started reading the bible, I been reading other stuff too, feeling great about it, going to take cold showers from now on.

    Walking 30 min 5 times a week 3/5 this week, (break day tomorrow!) and 3/15 total (3 weeks)

    BTW, I looked it up and 150 minutes a week is what the World Health Organization and others recommend for moderate intensity exercise, although they say it's okay to do it in spurts of 10 minutes - so I might start doing 15X2 some days. I may even be able to do more days that way, which would be nice to exceed the minimum..

    The main habits and at a relaxed pace are increasing my fitness.

    Ice skate at least 3 different places before end of Feb (ideally 7)

    Then after that outdoor skate session has ended, join badminton meetups, find that racquet or buy one & GO
    (Beginners level I am rusty!)

    Feb & March & April

    Then from about late April until as long as the weather holds get back into renting a bike & cycling in my city's main park which I sometimes do weather permitting

    MAYBE in high summer if I go quite early pools won't be too crowded so swimming too

    Ooh there's tons of things like

    Approach men aargh & even be more of an initiator platonically with women (potential pals)

    Do subs etc on social skills

    Drink my water & juices eatlier in the night so I sleep through the night LOL - better sleep, still hydrated.

    When I can afford to, buy more girly stuff even though I tend to buy ANYTHING else ha ha

    That's enough for now and
    eventually cut this chips & dessert with dinner crap & eat more fruit & veg even though can't cook & go to Crussh/Wholefoods etc at least once a month

    Since starting I took a cold shower everytime I was going to take a shower, keep forgeting to take showers in some days still.

    Gonna tackle one of the most difficult ones for me, but I think I probably need to do it the most.
    Self-appreciation lists. A life coach mentioned it, I did it for a few days and stopped, then later on, a guy here has suggested this to me. It's almost like a part of my brain is screaming at me not to do it, trying to distract me and so on. I am part way through one now. I am on holiday so I think doing this daily over 21 days is doable, I mean moreso than if I was working. I have already typed up about 6 lists and they are in my private online journal, so it's a matter of continuing to write them. I wrote reasons WHY I am grateful about those things about myself. It's a bonus if I come up with new things.

    Soooooo
    For the next 21 days, including today, I will write a self-appreciation list every day.
    It sounds cheesy, I know, but it's something I think I really need to do and I think that is also why that self-sabotaging part of me is SCREAMING at me NOT to do it.

    Can we log it here? Let me check. Either way, I'm IN!

    OK I just saw this LOL.

    Those are not every day ones but yes, these too.
    Going ice skating today, also soon going skating elsewhere with otehrs.

    Did a social skills sub last night.

    And bought three headbands. PLUS I dined at Wholefoods yesterday :)

    The lists, however, are every day. For the next 21 days.

    Wait! One more.
    Bandler book.
    UGH WHY is it SO difficult to keep reading that great book and type up notes? Seriously!
    But I often put it off.

    I think cos I want erm *blush* I want to be able to do NLP and hypnosis professionally in some capacity and cos of past failures I don't believe I can? So part of me thinks, what's the POINT of finishing the stupid book, you'll NEVER be able to USE that knowledge!

    But I'm gonna push through and for 21 days I will read a page a day and type up notes and EMAIL them to myself as a backup.

    Obviously I wanna go for more than a page a day esp. as am on hols. But I am saying at least one page a day.
    So my two new habit challenges for the next 21 days are:

    Daily self-appreciation list including the reasons why (yes it can be copied but it has to be hand-written)
    and
    Daily Page of Bandler book with notes typed out and emailed to myself.

    OH NO!

    Part of that time, the last five days, I will be back at work, at my new job so that part will be harder to maintain this, maybe. Though I can do the book on the train.

    Anyway, I'm DOING this.
