It's been years since I've lasted longer than two weeks. I'm at 9 days and I am starting to really be tempted. Making it to 30 is going to be very difficult. What are your methods for pushing through triggers?

Just don't put yourself in situations where you can PMO. Feel a trigger in the area? Leave the area. If you have strong urges stay off computer. Go work out. Read some textbooks, just put your mind on something else.

    Good advice Ubjamin.
Also, ask yourself this question when you want to fap.
Is your 5 seconds of good feeling worth the reset? It's like you are trying to recover from a drug addiction. Taking that drug again while you are recovering will bring you back to square one.
You will lose vital energy that you can use to achieve other things in life.
Good luck buddy, whatever you do, don't touch that penis.

Keep busy. Exercise is the best thing you can do. Be responsive to whenever you get turned on and act immediately.

Keep a journal, write down your thoughts instantly. Usually what helps (as recommended above) leave the area, go running, run until you can't anymore or do push ups.

I did not achieve 30 days on my first two attempts and am on my third. It's different in every case so you have to think about your own situation. For me, I found that I had to get rid of all triggers - deleted everything on my computer and emptied the recycle bin. I also had a large hidden stash that I hadn't touched in a year and was irreplaceable but I realized I had to delete it as well so I could mentally know that PMO is behind me and I am starting a new life. One can make excuses to herself as to why some material needs to be kept but they are just excuses. I also quit dating sites and unsubscribed to an e-mail I was getting as a preview for a website. It didn't occur to me before to unsubscribe from the e-mail. I'm also focusing on eating healthy foods and exercising because when I've stopped these basic habits I end up doing other things I shouldn't and it makes it easier to recycle when one is stressed.
