Idk if that has already happened to you but, after something really made you depressed, did you have the feeling that you ve become so stupid that you can no longer have a conversation about anything and feel retarded all the time? I'm slowly recovering but this sensation keeps holding me back...

I am sure that you are NOT stupid, that is a just bad moment for you and that is a reason why you feel that way. When that happens, try to think about something nice, or go out with a friend or something you like to do, until "bad moment" desapear.

I have had this feeling come up recently and it was almost unbearable, as if I was a different person. I have yet to understand it completely but I tend to overlook how PMO can affect my daily and future moods. Spending too much time alone can increase this feeling or lacking any human connection, tactile or otherwise. If pornography exposure diminishes self-confidence then perhaps that mindset is perpetuated by, not only action, but how we perceive our actions.

Same here! After relapsing I feel numb and plain stupid. I can't concentrate and it gives me a headache and insomnia. While I m on Nofap, I feel very energetic but at the same time confident and calm. Right now all I feel is this brain fog. It sucks!

Hang in there brother, I know for a fact it is a fleeting experience and only abstaining from PMO has truly liberated me. After years of pornographic use, I imagine the damage will take time to dissipate. We all have the capacity to overcome this.

Thanks for the reply and yes we all have the power to overcome this. The best part is that once we do, we also learn to appreciate the freedom and every other benefit that comes with Nofap.

I believe a lot of people actually do feel stupid quite often, regardless if it's a side effect of PMO.

Although I've gotten brain fog during my reboot and I did feel stupid, I didn't need to actually chat with anyone for very long (thank the lord).

It just happens sometimes, shake it off as a "stupid" thought and focus on something else.

I see what you mean atm I find it hard to hold a conversation and actually express my thoughts in a meaningful way. It's just the depressive symptoms of PMO addiction since the frontal lobe is damaged (part of the brain responsible for logic, thought process, personality) essentially the most important part of the brain when it comes to your sense of ''self''

Hang in there brother, we all will manage to overcome this. Just keep on going. Improve your life, its alright to take baby steps. Nothing comes easy, just remember its all up to you how you do things, and its how you do things even the little things that will matter the most in changing you'r life as a whole.

I feel the same, specially when I'm trying something new/that I'm not familiar with. That's your ego building a defence mechanism so you won't get hurt. The idea is that new stuff can't have it's risk properly calculated (like game theory), so your ego strongly advices you not to do it. Perharps geting to Nofap or experiencing some of the results of it might have triggered that reaction?

Obs. I'm a law graduate. Everything I said it's based on personal research. Don't take it for granted.
