I think it can't get any more ridiculous then already is.
It's the result of "Gender is a social construct" bullshit. What else can be said. Now people are getting to see that in real life these stupid ideological theories are BS.

 

If someone wants to do something shitty in a bathroom, no law is going to stop them.

But if someone has a non-conforming gender expression, they are already at a heightened risk for violence, and forcing them to use a different bathroom puts them in greater danger.

Bathrooms in places like Target are NOT where rape and molestation are going to occur. Predators prefer either much more secluded locations, or victims that are not complete strangers. But reactionary bigots are likely to use a misunderstanding of the law as an excuse to beat the shit out of someone they just don't like.

Think whatever you want about "gender being a cultural construct" but recognize that not everyone has to live their life in a way that you find acceptable. Gender expression is not about a person's sexuality. Most people are just trying to go about their business and avoid undue attention.

 

As if you know where rape and molestation are going to occur?

I see why a transgender man who looks like a woman would feel uncomfortable using the mens toilet, and I also see that I would probably ask the "lady" what the hell is she doing in the mens bathroom, which would lead to some awkward dialogue.
However enforcing such policies are just opening up an ugly can of worms, as it can lead to all kinds of misuse. Like perverts, etc.
This is a bullshit policy just to ride the pro-LGBTQ+whatever wave and look "cool, modern and open-minded". Well, they are open headed...as if their brains had fallen out.

 

It does no good, only gives more room for pedophiles and whatnot. And all that just to accommodate trans-whatnot people that are 0.3% of the population. Fuck it, I have never even saw a transgender IRL.

I read since last Wednesday over 854,000 people have signed a pledge to boycott Target over its new bathroom policy.

 

North Carolina just passed the "bathroom law". There is some serious corporate protest - Apple being one of the loudest. New York is banning non-essential business travel to North Carolina. The NBA is threatening to revoke the All Star Game from Charlotte. It's a wedge issue between Trump and Cruz in the Republican primaries.

Sheriffs are complaining about enforcement. Should security be checking the genitalia of all washroom patrons before they are allowed to use the facilities?

My opinion...

If you are in a stall with the door locked, who cares who is next to you? In college, some dorms even have common showers.

At a urinal, I would feel extremely uncomfortable if the person standing beside me urinating had breasts and a dress on. I would prefer that she urinate in the women's washroom. She would likely prefer to use the female facilities as well.
