Super Power

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Dec 8, 2018.

  1. Manipulation of electromagnetic energy sounds fun. One can float, push, pull things......

  2. I'll just say it. Total sexual attractiveness to women. To the point where hot chicks just buy me Harleys and let me crash on their couches.

I hadn't considered this. I'm changing my answer.

  4. The perfect superpower for me would be the ability to eat ice cream, my favorite desert, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner without any worry about weight gain or any other health consequences.

  8. To be invisible, so I can go wherever I want and not be bothered or seen by others. It’s knackering and bloody frustrating trying to blend in with society all the time.

Why are you so out of step with other people all the time?

  13. No

  14. Because I have autism and society expects you to act and behave how they want you to? Plainly, it’s not easy living in a “normal” persons world.

If you had what I had, you’d want to be invisible too.

That's a valid reason. It must be very challenging to be surrounded by people that don't conform to your own world view.
I can empathise with the wish for invisibility. It is, indeed, knackering and bloody frustrating to survive in our culture.

  16. I don’t have autism and I don’t know how you feel but I can still relate with this. Society has always confused me and I’ve always found it real easy to become a loner or a hermit.

  17. That would probably be my pick. It would have to be extremely fast healing though, like Wolverine. Aging would have to be halted too because of the regeneration. Think of the peace of mind you would have. Pretty much no matter what happened to you, you would survive and be just fine. Gunshots, stab wounds, disease etc wouldn’t even be a slight concern.

  18. Being a loner is nice, you can enjoy your quiet time and such but the whole interacting with society thing really isn't fun... While I find all the way down to how folks function in society strange or sometimes daft (I've also got a bunch of other wonderful things that come with autism), I'm sure you can still experience a glimpse of that without autism.

How are you at socialising? Because the number one thing with autism is that we don't know how to function very well around others, what's appropriate or a normal movement/gesture to others is a strange and often awkward thing to us. Making small talk or conservation is something I will not do unless I am absolutely forced to, it's bloody torture for me.

Probably going off topic with this stuff though. lol

  19. It can be very strange. I particularly don’t understand people when they gather in groups. People behave very differently when they’re with a lot of other people.

I can do it but it isn’t something I enjoy doing. When I was a kid I was very shy and really didn’t fit in with others. I still don’t really fit in with most people but I’ve had so many years of being forced to socialize that I can do it....even if I hate it.

I’m with you on that. I don’t like making small talk with strangers, it doesn’t bother me too much if I know them though. I also don’t like hanging around large groups of people. Even with my friends, I don’t want to be around more than one or two of them at a time.
