Strange benefits of NoFap

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by LOSEmyselftoSAVEmyself, Feb 11, 2019.

  1. I just did my first reboot last year of 97 days. Also i did a lot of streaks, ending up with 173 days in 2018: a serious improvement.

Certain things have happened that made me wonder if they were caused by my reboot and/or streaking, and I don't know if anybody else has noticed these things:

    1. I grew taller.

As bizarre as it sounds, I have all my life been 5'7. That is, until my reboot. I was measured by a nurse at a hospital recently. She said I was over 5'8 now.

These two numbers are reliable because I was measured by my height when I attempted to join the army when I was 23. The latter number, which happened in January of 2019 at 45 years of age, was recorded by a nurse against a height chart. We did it multiple times. She said that I was actually closer to 5'8 and 1/2, and this was with my shoes off.

    2. Sometimes I choke on food.

This is actually a strange benefit to the program. If I choke on food when I eat too fast,
it means that I can react if my trachea is clogged. That raises my odds for survival.

A person who spikes dopamine is less sensitive to choking because they chomp down on sugary foods, and the neurotransmitter makes them dull and distracted. That is, until it is too late...

    3. My skin is ultra sensitive

I wrote about this extensively in my journal, occasionally referring to myself as Dr. Alien Skin.

In certain places, my skin feels like I have long, coarse hairs that stick out. These hairs, protrude into the environment, and are filled with alien nerves that look purple under the light. The nerves run into my spine, and I can feel all of it: from the tip of the hair, into the follacle, under the skin, to where it connects into the spine.

Hang on, I'll have to finish this later, E.T. is calling...

    4. Improv comedy

I can't understand it, but I seem to always be able to make people laugh now, with the perfect line. And if they don't laugh, then I do something that makes me laugh, forget those idiots!

I knew a guy in high school who was like that. He was always crazy, making me laugh with his weird sense of humor. He was genius level. Where he is now, I heard he's a tattoo artist in the arts district.

Hopefully he doesn't try his material out while tattooing!

    5. Emotional

I never cried and laughed so much as I have since 2018. If there's joy or pain, buddy, I feel all of it, with WEIGHT.

Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's a little embarrasing.

But for me, I don't mind it, I'm growing up in public. After I become a person, I'll move away.

Sometimes I just feel an overwhelming sense of happiness, and it has no source.

This is also good because I am mentally ill and the doctors said I was a textbook case in flat affect.

    6. Risk!

I love the thrill of taking a chance. I like to approach hot women, sing karaoke on stage in a packed club on a weekend night for a song I didn't practice, play drums with strangers and their material which is new to me, run new paths and trails, say strange things to people, and get OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE!

    7. Being a celebrity

    Just because I'm NOT a celebrity doesn't mean I'm NOT a celebrity!

Get me? I can live it out in my head and in my life if I want. Call me Walter Mitty.

But I feel it. And believe it or not, some of it is actually reality.

I get my picture taken nearly every time I perform or even when I go to social events.

They post this thing on the internet nearly every time.

I feel a lot of days like I'm IN THE ZONE.

What's that? See the next one:

    8. In the zone

A lot of people refer to being in the zone as the "friend zone" in dating.

The friend zone is the graveyard of relationships, once a man goes in, and becomes a woman's friend, it never changes.

This is a different zone, which is a GOOD ZONE.

This is when I feel like I'm dialed into life, when everything I say is clever or intelligent or funny.

I feel like my body looks great, and I smile all day long.

When I am writing or playing music, everything rolls out, and it's flawless.

I don't need to see my face on a magazine cover.

It's not my fault that magazine publishers are ignorant!

I like being high on life.

I don't require anything to be alive!

I love God, He gets the credit!

That's my glass ceiling, I reckon....

LMK if you guys have any strange ancillaries....

    Word!

omg, just last week I do research about "in the zone"

tell me more about it. I really want to focus to do my work for hours without stopping.

I tried it with games, I can play for 10 hours straight. I thought I can channel the same "zone" into work. But I cant. Please tell me at what stage you started to feel the zone?

*my longest streak is only 11 days for 2 times. I dont know why, at the 11th day both time, I feel so bored. really really bored and I look at porn because of that.

  5. Being in "the zone" is not about video games. It is about life.

A guy who uses NoFap to become a better video gamer ultimately fails himself.

The reason is because video games are not really good for a person.

It destroys their concentration, thinking, focus and memory.

I know this because I was addicted to a computer game for a solid year.

I was chopped liver, in my brain....

At 20 years old this year, and being stagnant at 167cm, I thought puberty was done with me. If what you said is true, you have me motivated man! Any height and muscle increases sure are hard to have, but if it still happens beyond puberty, I am willing to trade my pmo past for this great gain!

Thanks for sharing my brother. very interesting, especially the first benefit- your gain in height. I also gained at least an inch when i went 5 months.
And i’m really really hoping i can gain some more height and just yesterday i was searching whether going on nofap for extended time will help me increase height even though most people would say there is no correlation.

But i trust personal experience and it’s really interesting that this occurred for you when you are past growing age!

  11. No problem!

  12. Cool! If you are new here, the best thing to do is spend a few days learning about dopamine.

Then set a date and try to complete a 90 day reboot.

Keep a journal, so that other people will communicate and share their experiences.

  17. Thanks! KMP

  18. That is the OPPOSITE of what this site is about, Sir.

This site is about STOPPING the dopamine, or dramatically reducing it.

That's the main purpose of the 90 day reboot.

Dopamine-starvation rewires the brain, even though it is hard to do, at first.

To find out more about the DETRIMENTAL impact of dopamine on the brain,
