    Hi,

I'm really struggling with coming to terms that my SO has a severe PA. Does anyone have any success stories with partners who have a severe addiction? Really finding it hard to be positive :(

    Thanks in advance

I am sure there are some. What do you mean by severe?

@Kenzi and I have been with our PA's for 2 years past DDay, and in my opinion that's a success... what exactly do you mean by success stories? And how severe is your PA? Porn? Camming? Prostitutes? Strip clubs? etc.

there is a lot of support here, and there can be success! Your PA has to want to get better though, if he truly wants it and commits 100% then he can be successful (progress not perfection as they say in addiction recovery).

My husband is 2 years PMO free. That is a success.
My husband is starting to feel emotions which is a success.
Recovery takes time, and as an SO, that is so frustrating, because we want healing now, we want them to care now, we want them to quit now, etc.

In my opinion @TryingHard2Change is doing very well, he is fully into his own recovery and is self-aware, which is a huge success.

Once an individual is aware, they no longer are tied to a zombie/autopilot state, they make their decisions wisely, with thought, intention, and consideration.

Hopefully some of the examples I've given give you hope. We are all here to support you!
