Shall I stop watching a TV show because it has nudity in?

Hi this is the first time I've posted here, currently just hit (or about to hit) day 5 of no PMO. I've been watching a new TV series called Peaky Blinders. I am really enjoying this show and there isn't much nudity at all. There are scenes of that particular subject though and since I never watched it before I have no idea when they pop up so I can't skip them.

I try to just look away due to staying away from P and I did not view it in such way. Would it be worth just not watching the show as when something like this pops up when I'm watching it feels like I'm ruining my streak a little bit. It doesn't trigger me in anyway just makes me feel a bit annoyed as I've removed some of my progress.

Even I had the same dilemma with a TV show, but my case was different. I felt like watching episodes because of the adult content and once I got triggered badly. So finally I decided to stop watching it !
And anyways its not like you cannot live without it. Just give that time to do something productive (not necessarily). Or you can choose another TV show, or if you feel its OK to continue watching it and its not effecting you in any way then just watch it and don't stress out !

Hey, if it's not P, than it really is just a P-sub which is still very bad. I'd assume (from similar experience) that your addict brain is trying to get you to watch that stuff by tricking you into thinking that it's not the same as P. For all intents and purposes, it is. Don't fall for that trap.

If you aren't actually searching for it and it comes up, then it is okay and will not hurt your progress. It is the active searching and clicking that does the damage to your brain. If you see nudity and it doesn't turn you on or trigger you then this is fine. If you are watching the show intentionally to see nudity then i suggest changing shows.

It is more a personal choice tbh

Alternatively you can use it as a training exercise. Whenever nudity comes on look away until it is over.

I share the exact opinion with Ezpz above. It’s about being honest with yourself. What is your motive and what is your action. In your specific case I would say, go ahead. If you come to the point you’re not sure anymore whether your conscience is clean or you’re really just fooling yourself to get your eyes on a little nudity I recommend you stay away from it. Be strict and be honest. Good luck to you!

Consider how you watch a mainstream TV show that contains nudity and sex scenes...
If you watch with a partner or friends I don't see a problem. If however, you watch alone in a private space with a certain mindset this may become a trigger and may be best avoided if possible.

  7. Next time you see nudity in a show, simply remind yourself that sex sells. There's nothing real about these scenes and are only there to compete with other shows.
It's getting a bit out of hand though. I've even seen a commercial in which a woman flashes here breasts and only the nipples are censored. I mean, even commercials?

  8. So if it's a TV show that's not 'mainstream' it's ok?
