Man, dirty conversations are one of the most powerful thing because it involves emotions. It's as dangerous as porn(if not more) because it involves another real person with who you communicate. It's a fatal weapon. Don't do that again.
If you really want it to stop . . . you'll have to stop these shit, there's no other choice. It's abstain from it, or continue doing it, there's not a midle place here.

But if you tell us that it needs to stop, it's that you really want to stop that shit. Shit stays shit after all.^^ Do your best, I believe you can because I believe you when you say you wanna stop.

I've misspent a lot of time on those sites.

One thing that is helping is that I've blocked the individual sites using this method:

make the standard rule: that you simply do not use the computer only when you really need to, then list up what needs to be done on the computer, get on the computer do your tasks and get off of it!
This technique will also help you use your time more efficiently because we always deviate from our tasks whether it's to porn, social media, or stupid youtube videos --> make sure you are in control of whay you do on the computer!

 

Hang on a sec. If you're interacting with a REAL PERSON, not just pixelated images, wouldn't that not be considered porn? I mean sure, if you're in a monogamous relationship then it's probably cheating, and if it's compulsive behavior then it could be a sex addiction thing but I'd say if you're a single guy then this most likely isn't a problem. Unless you're trying to reboot without masturbating and this is causing you to fap.

Is it a paid person on the other end or are you having to interact with real normal people? That's the distinction for me. If it's like cam sites then it's porn. If it's just a chat server where anyone can log on and basically have cyber sex ala aol circa 1995 then it's just an online version of a singles bar.

Well said...this seems worse than PMO, especially when in a relationship. If another person is doing 1 on 1 stuff with you at the other end, that would most likely cause a huge mess with the GF/wives.....sex chat, sex pic sharing, sex cams.....worse than PMO....

Porn is nothing compared to chat rooms, which were my addiction too. I would say they are worse for two reasons:

1. Chat rooms are interactive, so you are living a blissful parallel existence that makes you neglect real life
2. Chat rooms also use up a lot of time. I have been on them until the morning sun came through the curtains. Scary.

 

As others have said here, I know that for me, sex chat rooms are at least as dangerous as porn. I suspect I have spent 15+ hours on this over the last three days. This led to all the usual behaviors of looking at porn, sharing links etc.

I now have only a few hours of clean time under my belt. I would probably still be doing it & kept doing it until sunrise, if circumstances - family - hadn't prevented me.

Regardless of definitions, sex chat rooms are dangerous to those seeking to overcome PMO for good & should be avoided at all costs.

Beware that little voice that tells you it's not really porn & therefore low risk. It's not.

This sounds like the crack cocaine of porn. The real person interacting live at the other end makes this different than porn. I never tried chat, and hopefully never will.
My wife was already hurt enough with me PMO'ing knowing I was watching videos. I can imagine that knowing that there would have been live people at the other line would've been seen as cheating. doesn't matter the amount of explaining, the damage would have been done.

Ramondo, don't do it! It gives you the same dopamine release over a long period of time, just like a night of PMO. You will end up really tired too if you waste your nights like that. Your life will become a drag....take care of yourself!
