I suffer from severe PIED. I cant get, nevermind sustain a proper erection. Currently I have abstained from PMO for just over two weeks. Prior to this time I was edging rather infrequently, for a two week period before getting real with myself. So I haven't knocked one out so to speak in just over a month. I am flatlining and using this time to take advantage of the situation by developing healthy routines.(eating better, going on walks, going to the gym regularly etc.)

I am looking to hear the advice of other men who have cured or are in the process of curing their own PIED. I certainly believe given the severity of my case that this will take longer, probably significantly longer than the standard 90 day reboot for me. But I am committed this time and determined. However, there are pitfalls ahead thus I thought I'd ask those who have successfully bypassed them what I should look out for and how I can stay vigilant. Feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Not surprised nobody answered.

I believe 'success' stories (recovery back to normal erection) is few and far between.

Look at the Success stories in this section, how many of them are claiming success but yet don't have a full erection? Plenty of them!

This is pretty much the same trend at the different boards too.

I don't think even Noah Church is fully healed - I don't think he's confirmed it. Also, I don't believe Gabe Deem's PIED was that severe, as I he had sex many times before.

    What qualifies as a "full recovery" . . ?
Do you mean having erections like you were 16 again, and the internet didn't exist?
That's probably not going to happen, - but you can really change things for the better if you put the right effort in.
It's a tricky one to answer in terms of measuring progress and recovery.
Only you can be the judge of that, and while there are thousands of opinions on here - which will vary massively, that doesn't make them factual.
From my own frame of reference, I was (am) a recovering porn addict, and I was deeply immersed in internet porn daily for about 12 years.
Last year, I had successful porn / fap-free streaks of 9 months plus.
I noticed a big difference when I started doing Kagel exercises 3-times-daily. I really must get back into that routine. . .
Everything was stronger and more sensitive, and sex was a LOT more pleasurable.
It felt more like the way it used to feel, and it was there when I needed it.
No, my erections are not like they were when I was in my teens, but I'm in my late 40s now, so that makes sense.
Decades of social drinking, stress and the myriad responsibilities of adult lifestyle tend to kick the shit out of your sex life.
But, like anything else, if you focus on doing the right things, and look after yourself, then you will get better results.
I bet that if you make a concerted effort towards a cleaner, healthier body and mind, then you'll reap the rewards.

90 days is just a number that people seem to have become used to seeing on here.
Some people get results in weeks, and for others it takes years.

    But that's the trick, isn't it . .
We have been coerced into sedentary lifestyles by technology, and we are used to having immediate results with little or no effort.
I'm glad you posted this, because I needed a reminder that if you put the effort in, then you get results back out.

Thank you all for replying. I went twenty days without PMO'ing but had to reset the counter last night as I succumbed to urges. Still, I'm not going to throw in the towel. I'm gonna get right back up and try again. In three weeks I'll have surpassed my longest streak and I will take it from there. I simply can't afford to fall back into the vicious cycle of constantly PMO'ing. I have been making other positive changes in my life and it's onward and upwards from here. I will not be discouraged for while I might never be 100 per cent again it doesn't mean that I can't make ground or that I should stop trying to achieve that goal.

That the success story are not necessarily about someone recovering their erections - those are rare. (I mean full erection on on every time they attempt to have sex)

I'm honestly not being deliberately antagonistic, but there's a lot more to it than just not watching porn for a few months....

Sexual function is affected by more than just pornography.
Stress, confidence, depression, relationship, communication, emotional health, mental health, physical health, diet, alcohol consumption, age, cholesterol, medical conditions, medications, vitamin deficiency, sleep, day-to-day circumstances, - not to mention genuine erectile dysfunction - all have considerable bearing on an erection.

Porn is just the tip of the iceberg really.
Cutting out masturbation to porn is a positive thing to do, but it's not a miracle cure for everything.

Im also recovering from very severe PIED. Im 160+ days with no PMO, but I was cheating during this period. Some days I feel like theres progress and some days it feels hopeless. Im 4+ days no touching at all and i feel like ive regressed in terms of sensitivity. I do get inconsistent erections with real girls. I think my brain is really conflicted right now, trying to keep the porn circuitry alive while trying to adapt to real girl circuitry. I may be cured tomorrow, and it may take another year or more. Doesnt matter. Its about improving every day.
