Self care is a big part of my sexual healing. Taking care of my physical, spiritual, and emotional needs fills the void that porn speaks to with its lies.
For me it’s staying hydrated, being physically active, meditating, and leaning in to community. A step above this is serving others. The time spent searching for the next high to achieve arousal is always better spent serving my family and those around me, in my judgment.
Today I am feeling the pull to medicate life. Today I choose to take care of me and those around me.

I found this searching for the word service. I'm trying to do something a little more than the usual forms. Sure, even putting away chairs at a meeting is service, but I think we can do better than that. It's a challenge to just take care of ourselves sometimes, and I kind of struggle with the possibility that any unique form of service I bring will be completely unseen, like maybe it's something a few people pay attention to for a little while, and then attention drifts elsewhere and it's business as usual - even if it could really serve them far beyond that moment. TBH I think even if I practice certain things perfectly it may very well change nothing in this regard, people will have their set ideas of what recovery is and anything outside that box is just "okay.."

As far as taking care of others, there are certain things we can do - but for it to make a real difference I think we have to know others in some detail, and that just means some time and attention. I don't really feel this is a realistic expectation to any depth at this point, and I guess that means I have to take care of myself and remember that will help others because though my experience is unique we're all human. I do think online communities can still have a certain depth, but I gotta say it seems it would be the exception rather than the norm..
