I'm currently 18 days into a 40 day challenge. Last couple of nights have been extremely hard because I've been getting these real pornographic dreams. I might even be touching myself in my sleep although I don't masturbate or haven't ejaculated (barring nightfall may be). Any tips on how I can sleep better? I'm just trying to keep going and not let it affect my run.

These are wet dreams probably, or at least close to them. You can't control them, so just enjoy them as they're completely natural unlike PMO. It won't affect your recovery in a negative way in my opinion. Rather, from what I understood, this is a sign that you are recovering. I could be wrong here though but this is how I see it

But I barely experience something like this. I'm almost 2 weeks in though.

    Hi hi,
it´s good for me to see, that you share symptoms I know too. I classify those dreams as necessary step inside the process I want to go thru. I do not know what will happen next but every changing is a changing from the pitiable position where I was.
There is a life without POM and to reach it I need to go thru those steps I think.
But it is not easy to wake up with an erection within a porn scene (the dream) with your hand on your penis and not "to finish" the situation with M.
At the moment, especially yesterday I realized a lot of thoughts with an addicted character.
    They lead me to POM.
Thoughts like "Now or never", "You are young, enjoy your life before it is too late", "I have the right to be sexual active." etc. etc.
Now it is interesting to see, which situations lead to this thoughts.
In my case yesterday it was self-hating by not reacting to a situation which disturbed me.
I think the hole sex and pornaddiction "thing" is a very complex matter.
We didn´t get addicted in a day, so don´t except to recover in one day...

This is completely normal, especially if you were an avid porn user until you started NoFap. The sudden end in viewing pornography and possible urges you might be having could very well trigger these dreams. Think about this, if you have very bizarre dreams (non pornographic) try and think back to something you did while awake that could have triggered the dreams. Your awakened state has a lot of effect on your dreams. It happens to everyone. Personally, I have been doing NoFap since November 13, 2013, and am still having very sexual dreams every now and then. It's completely normal and is nothing to worry about.

Also, I have noticed that when there is a lot of noise around while I am in a deep sleep (for example, an alarm with a snooze button I keep pressing) I have more vivid dreams. So, try and keep your room dark and quiet and set a sleep schedule that avoids interruption (get to be earlier and wake up as soon as your alarm goes off instead of staying up later and hitting snooze a few times).

I am into one hour of this NoFap site (I have made countless attempt to quit porn). I found in those attempts I often dream of scenes I would encounter in porn. This is a trigger for me, and makes starting my day avoiding porn more than a challenge. My theory is the longer I go without porn, the less my dreams will swirl around it. I just haven't gone long enough to test the theory.

An utmost sincere congratulations to you on your achievement. I hope to say the same a year from now, beginning with avoiding the computer first thing in the morning with a walk, a book and quick shower, any life behavior change than the pattern I am prone to.

When I stopped drinking I had (and still have) drinking dreams which are so vivid I find it hard to believe I havent had a drink sometimes! I even dream that I am trying to figure out if a drinking session was real or was a dream (and other variations) See if the suggestions in this thread help you sleep?
