Porn Addict, Even Though I Don't Like It

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Feb 22, 2014.

  1. I've watched porn for 8 years. Usually, I don't feel good about it afterwards, but for some reason, I keep going back to it. I guess a part of me likes it. I had a bunch of porn saved on the HDD from my first laptop. The porn I had saved since then, I deleted all of it one day, a year or two ago.

I feel such a strong urge to look watch it. I have some files saved to my external HDD, even though I promised myself, I wouldn't download it again, after I had deleted my porn collection. I only have a few, most of them fetish, but it's still a type of porn.

I've never shared, or uploaded anything to do with porn, nor have I spent any money on porn. I goto a site, watch a video, just enough to orgasm, and then I close it and delete browsing history, so the temptation to view it later, isn't there. I made a profile and saved videos, most were not downloaded.

I'm a chronic masturbator, having a lot of time on my hands doesn't help either. I masturbate at least twice a day (in the morning, and at night). Sometimes, I masturbate 8+ time in a single day. A lot of times at night, I do it multiple times. I also have chronic insomnia, takes me hours to fall asleep. I lay there, bored and I fantasize, and masturbate. A lot of times, 15-20 minutes later, I do it again.

I done it everyday, since I was little. Only rare occasions I did not masturbate, maybe because I wasn't feeling well or I happen to be somewhere where I couldn't, which is rare.

I'm hoping I can learn something from here, and cure my porn and masturbation addiction.

    Hi Katniss

sounds like the story of me. Always feelt SHIT after masturbating, still had done it every single day.

Also had tons of porn material on my hard drive and deleted it few years ago. The important thing is: this might be the starting point of your awakening so STOP even typing in these porn site into your web browser, STOP the moment you think about doing it.

Maybe you write something about WHY you want to stop doing it. I think you need a strong WHY to keep going. How about you?

    Peace

Educate yourself!!! Learn the chemical addiction to porn and orgasm. It's as bad a cocaine or heroine. That should literally scare you. YourBrainOnPorn.com is excellent material.

You mentioned you have a lot of spare time. Instead of sitting idle, go for a run, join a gym, learn an instrument, read a book. If you think you still might end up looking at porn, go do these things in a public place. Make yourself accountable. Sounds like you have associated boredom, aloneness and all that with porn and orgasm. You MUST break that. Those are triggers. It all begins in the mind. You said it yourself. You lay there and begin to fantasize. Please read these posts, learn about the addiction and commit. This is a journey, not a sprint.

I know you don't know me but I want to see you succeed. You will feel so much better. I promise. Kick this things ass. Take control of yourself. Don't let this control you. Take care and message me if need be

    Hey Katniss,

I am addicted to porn too and want to kick the habit in the GUT. Its been 24 hours since I got on this site and I have logged many times since yesterday to read others stories. It feel relieved and hopeful.

I second WRA's thoughts on "educating Yourself". Watch the video on this link to start with. http://www.yourbrainonporn.com/porn-induced-ed-reboot-advice

I also appreciate what WRA brought for mentioning "Take care and message me if need be"

Support of any kind is very important. It helped me tremendously when I spoke about the same with my best friend and he surprisingly did not ridicule or humor about it one bit. He instantly promised me complete discretion and 'any time' support to battle this habit. He said to me in his usual manner, "The moment that stupid brain of yours starts to go to town, pick up the phone and give me a call, and I will make you realize what a jack-ass you are."

I find it useful to identify the times I'm most likely to have these urges to watch stuff, once you know your triggers, you can work in ways to distract yourself. For me I always find that my urges come in waves, I become anxious and it's all I can think about. But I realised all I need to do is find a way to snap out of this mindset (it's almost like a trance) and I'm fine again! Often I just immediately go outside and get some fresh air (have a cigarette, though I wouldn't advocate that!) or splash cold water on my face.

What I always do though, is tell myself clearly and authoritatively what I'm doing this for - to improve my life, to get rid of depression and ultimately to create a future where I can be happy :) Once I understand this, the urges just tend to fade away.

That or I just pinch my arm really hard!

and maybe find some way to treat insomnia, although I'm not sure how to do that, since I'm a sleepless person too.

Your mileage may vary, but after giving up porn and masturbation for some time, the neurotransmitters in your brain will find a new balance and your insomnia might get better.

I don't really watch porn. I google boobs or sexy girls and that's what usually used to get me going. It's strange really, I don't feel the need to watch pornography but I still feel the urge to masturbate. I haven't done it for a few days and I feel happy. Whenever I used to do it it would feel good while doing it but I would feel like shit afterwards.
