I only have MO problem and I have all the symptoms a regular PMO users have without the need to watch new P. If you regularly MO you might find out that the symptoms you were suffering from still persist. Sounds to me that you are already planning your failures. Rather than your brain understanding fully how bad PMO is for you, part of you is convinced that you want it and need it and you are treating it as your reward. If I may suggest.....reward yourself with a real woman as much as you want too. This way you will complete your rewiring processes. If you can do it for 6 months or a year there is no reason not to do it for 2 years.
If you are addicted to meth and enter recovery program with the attitude that after 3 months abstinence you will treat yourself with meth, what do you think would happen? Are you going to recover or are you going to prolong your addiction and reinforce the idea that meth is good for you. Do not set yourself for failure. Use your brain and set yourself for success.

@HopeFaith ... True. Good idea, and why not get a girlfriend to help you through the process? However, some of us have a harder time finding a woman because of various reasons, and sometimes you just don't meet one that you like for a LONG time. There's not much that quitting PMO can help you out with there. Sometimes it just happens like that.

Also, I read an article by a urologist... he stated that a lot of the problem from PMO is from sexual exhaustion. It's easier to exhaust yourself on PMO but it can be done with a woman or with just MO. Just an insight.

Lol. this post was for you. I was referring to what you have written under your signature and in particular "if I try to do no MO I will fail. If I don't allow myself some room for failure, I will fail." You are planing your failure with that attitude and your sexual exhaustion symptoms will remain triggered by your MO.

What I have found very helpful in all of this is a constant reminder of the extreme benefits other people are seeming when they succeed and escape. None of those who made it out wants to ever return and they lives are far more enjoyable than they have ever been on PMO. They just enjoy happiness and things just start falling in their places. When we are in our PMO addiction our brains try to trick us to PMO at all cost and we think we have to do it, we think we like it, we think we need it. But it becomes easy when we realise that the PMO is making us in fact sick. Every time we throw our energy away our body starts struggling as it needs it to live and function. It is like taking away our oxygen and wondering why we cannot cope with life. No one ever made it successfully without food either. This is why we cannot make it without our energy and the more we throw it away the worse we become.

    Alright guys and Double_a,
This article I found talks about the effects of aquatic environments on our mood, specifically for PTSD, emotional restoration and calmness to beat anxiety from withdrawals, i.e. PMO. I recall an article I read, about the benefits of reading or thinking next to a body of water and thought this would help those of you at rock bottom in this fight so here goes.

"In general, these studies in the U.K. demonstrate that both natural and built scenes containing water are associated with higher perceived restorativeness than those without water. Even when visitors to the seaside were found to arrive in a good mood, they leave the coast with significantly heightened positive mood.

Meanwhile, as international “BlueMind” research begins to catch on, many programs that rely on the power of water to heal people emotionally and physically aren’t waiting around for the results.

Operation Surf, for instance, teaches active duty members of the military to surf, many of whom have lost limbs in combat. Van Curaza, a former pro surfer and director of the program, told me that after surfing the men he works with “finally get a solid night’s sleep, and even have good dreams.”

“For some of them it changes their lives, and even saves their lives,” he said.

Heroes On The Water similarly deploys kayak fishing as a way to help treat PTSD in veterans and promote reintegration, rehabilitation, and relaxation. Wounded vets overcome obstacles and discover a peaceful place to play" (Nichols, 2013, p.13-17)

  8. @OP (guest) IMO, what you're describing seems to me to be a classic description of depression. Stopping PMO would probably be useful and might help to uncover a root cause, but I don't think it will be curative in itself.

Might want to consider seeing a psychiatrist who will be able to evaluate you and possibly prescribe a course of meds which will help you get back on track. I'm usually anti-psychiatric medication, but as long as it's short-term and you taper off when you understand some root causes and get better I think it would be safe.
