For the last few weeks, I've been getting one day clean, only to relapse the next day. This has become a pattern.

Last night, I broke the pattern.

    It feels damn good.

To stay clean today, I'm going to stay connected through this forum. I'm trying to read 3 posts and reply to 1 twice a day. I'm praying, walking, and I'm willing to use the emergency section on this page. I'm focused on my other hobbies and don't use technology as much.

What could get me to use is sleep. It's been a struggle to get to sleep, and that's the danger zone for me. I got by last night, but I think I really need to get my schedule down. I'll be back at work soon, anyway, and I'll need to be up at 5:45 every day. I should start working towards that goal.

Good idea. I almost never use an alarm anymore, (over a year) definitely not in the morning. I got up at 5:22 this morning and I'm actually a little sick, but I always allow for how much the body needs.

The mistake I see a lot of people make is they completely ignore how much sleep they need may change. They'll start a challenge that's super early and try to tell themselves they're stronger - but yet they need an external device to wake them up. They didn't do any of it, their alarm did. If they did I seriously doubt they do it consistently over a long period of time.

In time I found my thinking is a lot clearer. I don't have to psych myself or talk it up and get the attention of people on the forum, pretending I'm doing them a favor and using testosterone with words as a crutch - I just do it automatically now. And of course, to give some room for variation for things like being sick I go to bed earlier, a lot of guys never talk about that when they talk about getting up early. How the hell is that going to work if you're up until past midnight? Maybe a few times but that's completely missing the point because it's not something that works on a short term basis.
