They say that Success is a journey, not a destination. I've been here a little over a year and my longest streak was 122 days followed by 94 days, had breaks here and there and currently I'm on day 32.

I was into compulsive use of PMO for the past 5 years or so and I just want to give you an insight into looking at your NoFap journey with a different perspective.

I'm just making an attempt to analyse my NoFap journey compared to last year.

    Flashback: year 2015

Chronic compulsive PMO addict, I indulged in PMO at least twice daily, Taking this "minimum no. of PMO indulgence per day" which is 2 multiplied with the entire last year, 365*2= 730...

In 2015, I've fapped at least 730 times.

    Let's then assume,
In 2015, the total no. of times I PMOed = 730

Year 2016, and I've recorded my relapses

In 2016, the total no. of times I PMOed = 40

What does that mean? It means I'm kicking the crap out of this addiction! It means I'm making hilarious progress! It means I'm on the right track! I'M HEALING!!!

All I want to convey is that if you fall in your streak, there is no need to feel so bad about yourself, numbers are just a means to keep track of your days, Don't give undue importance to digits...

Big digits might tend to make you over-confident and small numbers make you feel weak ( That's how I used to feel)

Just focus on the present moment, without leaning much on the numbers and that would help you be more centered and level-headed.

The two things I've learned in my journey is the importance of
    1. Strategy
    2. Persistence

If something had led to your relapse, then understand what might be the issue and change your strategy accordingly, Implement it ruthlessly.

I kept away from social media for a long time...I made a pretty decent streak and thought that I might give social media another chance..So I reinstalled stuffs but I found myself going back to PMO spiral. I gave myself a few more chances and I realized I don't need it. I quit it as a part of my strategy. There were people who called me "primitive" because I don't use smartphone anymore. But I know myself more than they know me. And I did what's best for me. And I'm happy!

I'm never telling you to quit social media. Its all your freedom. I'm just sharing what worked for me. Don't keep yourself from implementing your strategies feeling what others might think. You know what's best for you..Rely on yourself, if it fails, its okay, you learned something, just keep working and you'll figure out your rhythm.

The thing about strategies is that developing the right ones takes time. Persist, keep moving. Whatever happens, don't lose faith in yourself.

Another thing I'd like to share is developing the right mindset...Just keep yourself open to perspectives and read success stories of people. You can find resources in www.yourbrainonporn.com

What is right mindset? I don't know, what works for me may not work for you, you have to figure it out. I believe in "Porn is not even an option in life" I want to live a porn free life. I also believe in the words "Wear your tragedies as Armor, not shackles"

As for benefits, The greatest thing that happened to me was to embrace me as I am, accept me for what I am....I developed a sense of self-respect and self-esteem and all the rest of blessings followed

I suffered from hair loss and pimples, I thought I'd become bald soon, but surprisingly, my hairline just returned. Hairloss reduced a great deal.

Like I said in the beginning, I'm also on a journey, there are lots to come! Sail along friends! You got this fight!

Wish you all a bright year ahead, Let's keep healing!

  2. I must say @black_coyote, you and I are awfully similar. We both signed up to this website around the same time, and we both tend to go the same lengths of time without PMO (my longest is 133, followed by 81). Further, we're both on the same day right now, and we both have learned many of the same lessons. I feel like this entire post could have been written by me, with the exception of the first sentence ;) I could not agree more that two of the most important lessons I've learned are persistence and strategy.
I'm so happy to see you succeed, and I wish you nothing but continued success. God bless you brother; you'll be in my prayers.

Nope. But for me, abstinence was probably the reason for my hair regrowth. My hairfall reduced significantly and the hairs became more waxy and thick and the hairline returned for me

  10. After reading this I realized my first streak must be over 100 days. At least 200 days I want or better a year. I dont want relapse following by shorter streaks. Success is my only mada fcking option, failure is not !
