At 22 years old, I'm nearing a decade of addiction to porn. After trying and failing for years to beat this addiction alone, it's time to find a new strategy. I'd be much more comfortable simply ghosting the forums without posting but that would mean missing out on possibly our most powerful tool: accountability. If anyone would like to join me on this simple 7 day challenge we can hopefully help push each other to a strong start on our lifelong journey to defeat our addictions!

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

The panic button on this site has given some helpful advice. I've been trying to avoid those situations where I'm weak and vulnerable to the urges. Then when the urges show up, I've treated them with a different mindset than the usual panic/dread, where I stay calm, take a breath, and come up with an exit strategy like doing some quick push-ups. It's going good so far!

good on you. i wasn't thinking about the effects of PMO (or anything really) when I was that age. but nine years later, i finally got around to it. better late than never, right?

i wish you success, and way to get ahead of it.

I'm 27 and have for some time now suffered from ED which I've always put down to anxiety. As I've got older I've read about PIED and am hopeful cutting out porn and masturbation! I am aiming for an initial 30 day reboot to see how it effects my ability to gain and maintain an erection!
Day 2 only and it's surprisingly how frustrated you can get in a short time!

Let's do this! Come on will power

Just had to reset the counter after 5 days. Took a sick day, didn't have the energy to go outside, work out, or use the usual avoidance strategies. I was initially "triggered" by stuff on social media, and I held off for a couple hours but failed to replace the urge with something better so it kept coming back. I may have to only view social media when I'm away from home, as it has been the number one cause of urges for me.

I've almost caved on a few occasions but starting a new job has helped keep me distracted during the days.

I'm in a long distance committed relationship and having that person who I plan to be intimate with really helps as a motivated. I do worry about flat lining though since I won't have any intimate contact for weeks at a time.
