Yeah taking drugs to intentionally scare yourself is retarded, especially as someone with the addictive personality (and likely accompanying underlying mental health issues) which have led you to this forum.

For me I don't watch pure horror movies as I don't like gore or pure violence, and rather enjoy psychological thrillers. The only thing that has ever scared me was The Grudge growing up and Even The Grudge 3, I still have bloody issues with it with my anxiety and such but it's such a well made film. I'd love to see the new film called Grudge but I bet it'll be gory or something along those lines.

Amen, i cant stand all the gore in horror movies. I like things like the sicpxth sense or what lies beneath or the omen. Nice wholesome thrillers with good plots
