As a relatively new member I am still very confused with some NoFap terminology.
    You can be without:
    • P or Porn for x number of days. I understand that. That is in general OK for singles which are addicts. In general.
    • PM or Porn and Masturbation for x number of days. OK so no porn and no masturbation. That's perfect for men in relationship. Like me I guess.
    • PMO or Porn and Masturbation and Orgasm for x number of days. This I don't understand. How can somebody be without an orgasm for 90 or even 500+ days? Is that even healthy? So if he has a wet dream then he has to reset his counter? I read the explanation that in order to get rid of addiction hard mode PMO is the best solution, but 500+days? Can somebody explain what does it really mean? Or does it just mean not to have orgasm by thinking of porn or masturbating?

So the real question is what is the difference between somebody who is 500+ days without PMO and somebody who is 500+ days without PM ? I am a philosophic kind of guy I think, and love precise determinations. Otherwise I can get confused and that could lead me back to my masturbation habits

  4. I'm far from an expert, but here's how I'd see it.

Being without PMO ( including orgasm as stated ) is a goal mainly for men that aren't in relationships due to either not currently able to maintain one, have no interest in maintaining one, or feel like their past relationships suffered because of the over-usage of porn and masturbating and decide until they recover, they won't allow themselves to be in a relationship.

Unless they have an extremely patient lady in their life.

As for the difference, yes, I'd say there is a difference between abstaining from PMO and PM, looking at some esoteric traditions and knowledge, but regardless of how you'd determine the difference, both are worthy goals. I say every man's goal is to keep the orgasms to women and strictly women. No masturbating, no porn, no special toys, none of that.

I abstain from Orgasm as well simply because as of typing this, I don't have any way to enter into an intimate scenario with a woman.

Some would say masturbating is fine. I don't fully concur, I'm more of the only-with-a-woman mindset as stated earlier, but I think the people on this site would generally agree that over-doing it just seems to cause issues, issues that can affect so much in their life.

EDIT: Scenarios that involve orgasming without any intent or control over it, such as wet dreams, really depends on the guy. Some do completely strict challenges where intentionally looking at porn is considered a reset where as others are more lenient with themselves.

Also, I'm not too sure where you got the information that the hard mode challenge is over 500 days. I was sure it was only 90 days.

I know, but some guys have this counter 500+ days without PMO and I thought: that is impossible or I just don"t get it. I understand it now. 90 days it's ok. More than that could be counterproductive. Thanks.
