  1. Hi, all. I'm new here and don't really know how all this works quite yet. I would like to post my story, but I'm not sure where exactly I should do that or if there's anything I need to be aware of before I post my experiences with porn addiction. I would hate to commit any faux pas. So, feel free to show me the ropes. I appreciate it.

  2. Hey @Onan the Barbarian,
    Welcome to the NoFap Community!
The first page I recommend is the rebooting information page. This should give you a better idea of the process.
A great place to post your story is in the 25-29 section. There are a lot of journals there, and it's easy to build a little community.
A big faux pas is posting triggering information (text that leads someone to look at porn). Make sure to use the trigger blocks when in doubt. Check out the forum usage guide for more information.
Best of luck during your reboot.
Feel free to message me or anyone else here if you have questions or want to talk.
    Again, Welcome!

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

  4. Thank you for the info and for making yourself available. Until I get more experience on these forums, I think I might as well completely trigger block any personal stories about my addiction that I share, to avoid any unintended affronts.

  5. I can't say I really have any strategies at this point, aside from prayer (though, I need to pray more regularly) and getting out of the house when I feel tempted to watch porn or masturbate. Idleness and the resulting anxiety are major triggers for me, so when I find that I'm stuck at home with nothing to do and starting to feel anxious, I just need to get out and go somewhere public, like to a coffee shop or on a walk, or do something productive to keep me from giving in to my temptations.

  8. Hey @Onan_the_Barbarian ,

I'm just a normal ordinary member. No moderator super powers and no special insite. I share my ESH (Experience, Strength and Hope) of what works for me.

Just another warm welcome and a heart felt hello. This community has helped me so much.

What worked for me was "working" it. It took hard work for me to complete a hard reboot (No pmo) for 120 days, then move into a Sex Positive mode.

First, reading the literature published by NoFap itself along with reading journals.

Then, doing the work. Writing in my journal and replying to introductions and other's journals.

Finally, but not least, getting involved with the fellowship. I found it on the forums, but also in people's profiles. The forums tend to be longer posts, where the profiles tend to be more "conversational".

That is what has worked for me. I like to remind myself that this community was here waiting for me with the lights on when I arrived. Now, I have to do my best to be there when someone comes to the community.

    Then, watch this video:

    PS -

One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals. Reading other's stories with their victories and even defeats is a big part of my program.

I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:
