thanks for the post that gave me some hope! porn makes me so depressed and anguished. i don't have enough willpower to quit porn though i hate it. I haven't even told my friends about my addiction, i haven't told anyone, i just can't. I'm ashamed of myself. Feel so disgusting.

It's alright my friend, you've come to the right place :)
All of us here feel you because we are in it together fighting the good fight against this ugly addiction.
Together we shall beat it. We can.
But the first and most important step is to forgive yourself and accept that you might slip, because this will be the foundation for you to build on your strength to win this war.
"Treat a man as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be, and he will become as he can and should be".. and I am sure that you can and should be free from PMO :D

    All the best, friend.

That was good advice i feel better after your post! It really helps to forgive myself, and not always hating and being ashamed of myself. Thank you! I know that i am a good man but porn has destroyed a part of me, im not so happy and social like i used to be. Many people ask why i look so doleful, and why im so quiet. I was not like this before...

I agree with this list, but I am totally missing social skills. PMO often is the direct result of a lack of social skills. I'd like to add these important things :
    • Maintain your social contacts. Friends, family, colleagues. Be active! Keep in contact!
    • Learn to say clearly what you want and what you not want. Learn to say "no".
    • Learn to lead, learn to decide, learn to organize.
    • Learn to delegate and ask for help.
    • Learn to give, but also to demand and take!

As for the hobbies: I would extend this to work in general. Try to find a work which truly fulfills you. The best in life is when you can every day do something which you really love and which also brings you money for a living.

As for the cold showers: Do it only ony if you really like it and when it makes you feel better.
Cold showers might be associated with punishment, and that's against the idea of rebooting. You should not punish yourself, rather make peace with yourself.

It should only last a few weeks, if it happens for you at all. Don't be alarmed if it lasts a bit longer though. :)
