Movies that deal with PMO addiction

I watched a movie a long time ago called Fireproof its about a firefighter who has problems with his marriage due to porn addiction. Its a christian film but the biblical message is very subtle. However, you can see the damage it causes inside a marriage, what the guy was willing to doto save his marriage, and the positive effect of leaving his addiction. Again this was a long time ago and i dont remember exactly how it was but ill leave that for you guys to find out

 

I caught some of that movie years ago. Its a Kirk Cameron film. Usually his films are preachy and wooden, but this one held my interest. I'll give him credit for putting a p addiction movie out when no one was talking about that kind of thing.

One thats been on my mind lately is What About Bob. Its a comedy and it doesn't deal with sex, but it does comment on compulsive behaviors. Bill Murray's character is afraid of his own shadow, he has obsessive compulsive behaviors, such as picking up a telephone with a handkerchief. All of his behaviors stem from family issues, so when he gloms onto his psychiatrists' family while they're on vacation, he starts to feel like he belongs again. There's a poignant moment where Murray is about to use his handkerchief to shut off a nightlight, but then realizes he doesn't need it anymore and throws it away.

Fireproof with Kirk Cameron. I said hello to him in a Subway once! Yes, for a Christian film it's actually not bad. Most of them are too preachy and over simplified for my taste, but this one was decent. The scene where he is tempted to click on the popup is actually good, rather weird too, with the ominous music and bordering on camp but still effective. And subtle statements his wife makes like "did you clear your history?". Good one.

 

Yeah guy wich fap 5per days surely would bang Scarlett johansson, this shit is real like wrestling.

 

I watched Shame today. Quite good, I like the lead actor a lot and the story was quite similar to mine actually.
I just didnt understand why he did not fuck that black chick? Can somebody explain? I first thought because of PIED but afterwards he was able to fuck that prostitute so it shouldnt be PIED.

All in all movie is about porn and sex addiction but very little about recovery. The one I recommended Thanks for Sharing (2012) is much more about recovering and actually inspired me to join similar support group in my city.

I swear so many people from all walks of life have suffered this fate.

Just watching that dude who wields a bloody mini-gun in the expendables admitting to porn addiction surely makes it easier for us to come clean?? If not to people we know, at least to a professional.

 

I do hope more movies come out, even if a good Judd Apatow comedy could address it that would be cool. Kinda-sorta in "This is 40" but it's more about Paul Rudd being stressed than PMO.
