~Month to Month Plan for NoFap Success~

    I think the key to NoFap is having a plan, and knowing where your going. This will prevent taking on too much at a time and constantly relapsing.
    This simple 3 step plan is something that beginners to NoFap who are struggling to reach past the 14 day mark and onwards can use. I hope it can benefit someone here:

    Step 1 - Weaning off Pornography - Recovery Phase
    Timeline: Months 1-6
    -Start with purely the removal of Pornography/Sexual images (NO PMO). No pornography or visual triggers whatsoever.
    -You are allowed to masturbate during this time, HOWEVER
    -you are only allowed to fantasize to vanilla level arousal. Just think of a naked woman's body, or the physical sensation of touch. No fetishes of any kind allowed, or hardcore stuff.
    -You have to exercise a bit of discipline here, as your mind will tend to want to gravitate towards edgier material.
    -If done successfully you will realize that you need to masturbate far less this way, as your brain will become to normalize, and is becoming less wired to hypersexual stimulii.
    -This is the recovery phase as you detach yourself from the harmful effects of pornography.
    -Do this for 1-3 months or until you feel ready for the next step

    Step 2. Active progression - Momentum Phase
    Timeline - 2-6 Months
    -Start with a minimum of 7 days without Fapping.
    -Here you want to actively progress the number of days you go without masturbating.
    -A possible example could be 7, to 10, to 14, etc.
    -How long you stay in this stage depends on your level of ambition and dedication.
    -Eventually you want to get to 30 day streaks
    -This is the momentum phase as you slowly begin to build positive neuropathways to the practise of abstinence


    Step 3. Sexual Transmutation - NoFap Phase
    Timeline - 6 months+
    -During this stage you are actively practising NoFap, with 30+ days in your book.
    -This stage is where most people start noticing all the reported benefits of NoFap.
    -Here you now realize the extent of your addiction and how it was damaging your life.
    -Here you've learned and developed the skill to practising abstinence/self discipline.
    -Hopefully you can now use this time and new found energy to develop a passion, and pursue your dreams!

    This is spot on.if you created it urself u r genius.everything happens gradually and this is a perfect plan.im not sure ill follow it as going straight out for months has already taken me to phase 3 but nice.

    Hi,you understand yourself more than i do but you cant say that without trying right:) actually,the notion that everything only works for few is plain wrong and feeds low confidence.different people face different problems but each time learning makes you grow and reach your goal..Thanks!

    I did create it, and I appreciate everyone's feedback. It is a protocol I followed during my first couple of months and worked well for me.

    I'm on day 50 of Nofap I have been feeling so horny. I was tempted to masturbate without porn last night. I hope that it would be ok. I'm not in a relationship so I really need to relieve this sexual tension.Looking at you plan it gives me the impression I can MO I think I'm strong enough not to relapse.

    You don't "need" to, you want to. You're not going to die of sexual tension or horniness.

    It feels like death. He did say MO is ok. I know this addiction can try to play mind games with you. I do miss porn but I'm not tempted to watch. In the past if I was horny I would just go have sex. That's not as much of an option right now.

    Currently if you have just started out. You can give yourself permission to wean if you absolutely have to. So follow the rules set for month 1. You can have physical release however you need to ensure it is free of fantasy. It should be purely for the physical release of sexual tension. Eventually when Your brain re wires itself you will notice you need to masturbation less and less.

    But full abstinence is always best over partial.

    Thanks for being the voice of reason. Some guys on here are so strict about no masturbation but then they relapse every 4 days. Now I'm afraid of what will be on my mind when I fap. It worries me that I might have fantasies or think about some favorite porn scenes. After 2 months my porn memories are vague at least.

    You need to practise mindfulness during masturbation. Focus on your breathing, and on the sensation of touch rather than your imagination. If you find your mind beginning to wander into porn/fantasy, gently bring yourself back, take a big breath and continue. If this doesn't work and you continue to have intrusive thoughts, then you may need to abstain from both porn and MO until you've gained enough "dewiring"

    Thanks for the advice You are one of the sanest people on here. I will know longer listen to the advice of nofap fanatics who can't even follow their own insane rules based on incorrect advice that people love to spread on this site.

    I appreciate the feedback and am happy you've found success with my plan. I would agree with you about there being some bad apples on these forums, where I would even question their motives of even being on here. However there are plenty of people on here, who, like myself, strive to be educated, speak from personal experience and genuinely want to contribute to the NoFap community. I hope you can find your way to them as well.

    Guys …. I’ve read the plan and it is a very well thought out plan from someone that has obviously educated themselves about this addiction… But I’m sure you’d agree that everyone is slightly different in their approach.

    But I know for myself once I MO I find it so hard when the thought of P comes into my mind to fight it…. It’s like the brain has got that dopamine hit and is craving more and it hits me like a ton of bricks!!! Then the Chaser effect kicks in …… at DAY 50 would you not keep going until you get to DAY 90 ……

    But getting to DAY 50 is also inspirational

    Thank you for the post. And you mentioned an important piece of information. Yes their will be a chaser effect once you mo, but if you do it correctly without fantasy it won't be as bad as if we're to have fully relapsed from pmo. But it does exist and yes you would have to Practise discipline. I recommend it as an absolute last resort for Fapstronauts if they need to release tension. This way you can keep your momentum going, and then eventually focus on removing mo as well.

    Hi! My question would be if you only can only use your imagination at the few MO you let yourself, or you can use picutes like playboy, which has no porn content, but there is a half naked, or just a sexy women?

    No anything that isnt the real thing is not allowed.

    When you masturbate you want to try and become aroused purely by the sensation of touch. Focus on your breath while you do this. Dont let your mind wander. If you have enough sexual tension built up you should feel aroused by touch alone.
