Day 10 of my reprogramming. For me it seems to be all about moderation. I've had sex once (with an occasional FWB) and fapped once in the past 10 days. Both felt noticeably better than they did when I was on my daily PMO diet.

I half expected to feel awful after the fap, but I actually felt okay. It was a simple MO, no P, no more than five minutes from start to finish, and exclusively focused on girls I've already had sex with. I felt relaxed and unashamed of myself afterwards.

I've come to associate MO with feeling completely crummy afterwards, but that's because it was usually a marathon session of PMO, hunched goggle-eyed in front of my monitor with arm-ache, neck-strain, and ending up completely drained.

I still remember the visceral thrill I felt, age 11, when a friend smuggled a few pages of a Playboy magazine into school one day. The insane and impossible quest of PMO – to recreate that initial thrill – led me into a maze of ever-more marginal erotic kicks. I've PMO'd so many times to online images and clips of women and situations that I'd never be remotely into in real life.

It's becoming clear to me that P is the dragon I need to slay. While I admire those who achieve weeks and months without any form of sexual release, I don’t think that's for me. I'm beginning to feel that a moderate, reasoned approach to MO gives me a better chance of quitting P for good. Of course, we're all different and YMMV.

Best wishes and best of luck to all.

  2. Is it really that bad if I only watch porn for the satisfaction of my eyes and the sound but not actually masturbate to it?

I tried watching porn without PMOing when I first discovered Nofap. I would advise you to avoid watching or fantasising about any type of porn, because porn produces just as strong cravings as MOing.

  4. Ok.
Yea, I watched porn without masturbating for about a month long before I first came in contact with this whole thing.

I cannot really say that its been worse but I do get a hugh boner every time I watch porn, even tho its just for satisfaction.
Even tho I actually find masturbation more devastating than porn but porn is certainly not helping.

But thanks for your answer, I'll try my best to stay away from both.
