@Toby430 - I'm wearing a device right now . . . for the first time in months. I was compulsively edging and seemed like I wasn't going to be able to stop before having an orgasm.

Some thoughts I have that might be helpful:

• Ask yourself if the thought of wearing a device turns you on. If it does, it may be more of a fetish than a useful tool for achieving your goals. For many of us, anything that causes arousal is troublesome because if triggers the same areas of the brain that contribute to our addictions.
• If so, once it's on, does it still turn you on? (for me, sometimes the thought of chastity is arousing, but once it's on, it's not really arousing. It actually has the opposite effect).
• Beware of the plastic / polycarbonate devices. They are the most popular and are likely to be the first ones that you find, but I have heard of them breaking and that could lead to cuts, etc It may cost a little more but I suggest getting one of high quality stainless steel.
• Yes, try to find one that fits properly. You mentioned being smaller than average. I kind of think that most guys that end up in chastity are smaller than average (hmm . . . something to think about there). I am as well. Luckily, for that reason, I think many of the devices on the market are sized for smaller men. I have bought six or seven now and still thinking that I haven't found the perfect one . . .
• Again, try to find one that fits properly. A small, snug cage may be very tempting for many reasons, but I fear that lasting damage can be done by not allowing your penis to achieve full erection. I heard from one guy how says he lost over an inch in length and has a misshaped penis thanks to prolonged use of a device. Personally, I have some mild nagging pains in my penis that I suspect are from wearing a device.
• Overall, I would say that it's best to use the chastity device as a last resort.

So, yeah, I think it can help but it might also be helpful to know that it might not be 100% effective.

Has there been any discussion about keyholding? Doe the presence or absence of having someone hold the key make a difference in the effectiveness of the experience?

I was wondering, if members in this forum might be able to help one another in this regard. Just thinking.....it's another version of being an accountability partner.

I have not. But I see the potential for benefit......and, of course, the potential for abuse. I fully agree that "chastity" isn't a totally clean way to reboot. (discussed previously....things like porn blockers, etc) I figure the accountability factor is going to outweigh any potential triggers.

 

For me hell no. P blockers are what I use for now. I would not recommend that man. Sounds wierd.

 

If you work at home, you could install cameras all around the house and then make sure that you are always in front of one of the cameras.
Or . . . you could try to arrange for her to have you take a lie-detector (polygraph) test.
Or . . . you could have her put you in a straight jacket, forever

Or . . . you could use a chastity device and give her the key, but some guys (myself included) have managed to masturbate even with the device on, so it's not absolute proof.

To me, what it sounds like, is that what you really need to do is talk with your wife. There is no way to prove to her beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are not masturbating. You need to re-establish trust. If you have stopped masturbating, then good for you, that is awesome. If she doesn't believe you, then that's a relationship issue. Maybe try counselling.

 

I wouldn't use the one with the spikes. I burnt myself with cigarettes in order to get rid of my hard on. I used needles. That turned me on even more.
Find yourself an AP, who remains on your side and is loyal. My AP ist great. I follow his order not to touch myself. I forbid him to jerk. If I feel the urge to get off, I think at the promise I gave. I wear mouth protection, I bite on it. I say to myself: don't disappoint your AP. I never did and I never will.

 

I forgot to day, that I landed in hospital, because I used such a device. I had to undergo surgery because of an infection. I almost died. Keep your fingers away of such a stuff. It's fetish and won't help. Use your willpower and be loyal to your AP.

I obviously don't know the whole story, and I'm sure that others on this site would disagree, but from what you have written so far and what you just wrote here, I would say it sounds like a good plan.

Personally, I need to be clear with myself that wearing a device is not carte-blanche to look at porn or engage in fantasies. Quite the opposite. For me, it serves as a very tangible reminder of what it is that I am trying to achieve. I still get myself into trouble, but it helps.

I think that it's great that your wife will have the key. For you, I imagine that it would serve as a tangible reminder of your NoFap goals and of your commitment and devotion to your wife.

Will you be with her every night? If so, I would strongly advise against wearing it at night. We get erections at night as part of a healthy sleep cycle and to wear a device at night could both disrupt your sleep and possibly cause damage to your penis.

 

As far as I know, you can have penis problems if you wear it regularly. Also the first time I saw this thing was in a porn movie with some extreme stuff. So I dont know how this is going to help,

 

Is your wife into the idea? Having your wife lock you in a chastity cage and keep the key sounds kinda kinky. It could be a turn on or it could just seem really weird.
