Hi all, so im now a fapstronaut and am hopefully on my way to stopping my porn addiction.. im married and watch porn secretly most days to the point i would rather do that than have sex with my wife.. it also eats up my time and increases negative thoughts etc.. usual stuff i imagine. but glad i found this site and i am looking forward to being part of something so positive.

Hi justsayno, welcome. Thanks for posting. Reading posts and replying are part of my recovery. I am sure people here get tired of me saying it, but... this video was huge in helping me stop the PMO cycle.

aaron92 mentioned yourbrainonporn.com It's run by Gary Wilson, the guy in the video. He knows what he's talking about.

I always say two things to guys trying to quit the PMO cycle, education and tools. The video helps educate you about how porn effects your brain. Understanding that was big for me.

Tools: porn blockers were a big help. You have to understand that porn is watching it, thinking of it, remembering it, imagining it, fantasizing, and using porn substitutes (non hardcore stuff that still sets off your dopamine triggers). Also, reading posts and replying are part of my recovery, so thanks for posting;you have given me an opportunity to remind myself why I quit. I also suggest you google "the Coolidge effect and porn addiction" and "abstinence v. recovery". The more you know the more likely you will be to succeed.

    Good luck in your journey.

A lot of us begin where you are at and end up clean. It can be done. You just have to want it enough.
