the thing is, the first time you jerk of after a long time, the sperm does not have a very healthy color. about 9 months ago, i jerked off after a streak of around 45 days hard mode, and it had some really unhealthy looking yellow color. right now i am doing hard mode again, doing pretty well. bit scared of what i should do after i hit the 90 days.

I am not really sure what i should believe and if it really might increase the chance of prostate cancer if you keep your load in all the time.

probably i think jerking of once in 2 weeks or so is most likely the safest way. but that is really hard to control. once you start masturbating again, at some point you are like ah whatever why not do it several times a week etc. and at some point you even start watching porn again.

that is exactly my story. after my 45 day streak back then, i wanted to change to a routine that i allow myself to jerk off once per week without porn.

it sticked to it for like 2 weeks. then i started to do it more often and at some point i even started to watch porn again.

I did this like for several months again, and at some point i got so pissed off, that i started my new current streak.

so in my opinion, masturbating once in one week or 2 weeks is much harder than not at all

Gary Wilson speaks of similar subject matters at length on YBOP & yourbrainrebalanced.com

I personally don't want to argue about the physical effects of prolonged abstinence from ejaculation as would be experienced in a 90-Day Hardmode No PMO as there is no concrete evidence as to what even happens to excess semen built up within the human body, however, from a psychological point of view I agree very much with the information below.

A lot of us (myself included) just aim for a 90 day hard-mode No-PMO to speed up the recovery from what significant amounts of porn abuse over many years has done to us.

If you don't feel comfortable doing a completely PMO free prolonged program because of the effects it may have on your body physically, just don't do it..simple as that! Maybe force a program on yourself where you abstain from P completely and MO to a schedule, it all depends on what you're trying to achieve. But recognize that MOing may hinder progress as you could well be fascinating over the "hard wired" porn images that have been imbedded in your brain through years of PMO.

For myself, I believe MO without P can be just as bad as with P. You are still MOing to unrealistic and artificial fantasies that real woman don't live up to. Where you became addicted through porn movies online (The route for most) or from directing them yourself in your imagination, the end result is the same.

  4. Great arguement. Have to agree with you. The body will indeed get rid of the excess semen by itself, through urine and wet dreams. Why would the bodily function need some sexual stimulation in order to work properly and in a healthy way. It just doesn't make any sense. The sexual stimulation is only needed when we procreate, otherwise it's unnecessary. Back when most people were farmers etc., they didn't have the time or the energy to even give a thought to such useless activity. I'm not saying masturbation didn't excist back then, just that it must have become a 'thing', a phenomenon and a worldwide trend only recently. A billion flies can't be wrong and we know what they like.

After watching science flip on itself, I don't believe any studies anymore. I'm at the point where I think extreme masturbation will make you sterile.

What about Ming to sensation alone? When I first discovered the nofap reddit and read hundreds of threads, I recall reading a few folks saying that M to porn fantasy is just as bad as M to porn, but if you must M, do it by sensation alone. Seems to me that, while difficult, M to sensation alone and staring at the wall would not reinforce the PA neural pathways.

    Thoughts?

  8. You make some valid points about it giving permission to turn into a relapse. That being said, it's worth trying to understand whether it really is unhealthy never to ejaculate -- as in contributing to prostate issues in one way or another. Fortunately, I have a wife, so I don't consider it to be an issue, but if I were without a partner, and at my age -- mid-sixties -- I might give some thought to a clinical release with a vibrator and no porn every 2 weeks.

Just because somebody is knowledgeable does not mean that they are objective or honest. They can choose and twist the facts to support their position while making it look like science.
Milk will not spoil in one day. Nobody needs to ejaculate 6 times a week to keep their tubes open. Unless he's in training for some sort of sexual olympics, once every month or two would be more than enough for standard maintenance.
I only get a message that the site does not exist. No matter how good it sounds, that is not a reputable source if their website ceases to exist and leaves no forwarding address.

Yes I totally agree with you!!!! Fairly soon, I'll post a thread about "The Winners and Losers of PMO" in which I'll explain why masturbation is called healthy but why it really isn't healthy.

I would rather die from prostate cancer at 50 than live 100 years while constantly masturbating.

  15. Agree. Either that or your drive to get laid and bust an O will be so great you will actually talk to, desire and have sex with a real person and find it way more fulfilling than spurting your man-jam all over your keyboard.

Hello there guys, i see everyone on here is pretty committed to nofap and such but unfortunately many sources don't really agree with many of your benefits. I am a practicing urologist currently and have been for around 2 years or so and I have seen a lot of people point to this site for help not only in my office but just generally on this site. Ill just start off with my advice.

Masturbating is defined as a way to pleasure yourself. Ejaculating is defined as a way to expel sperm. You do not have to masturbate but you NEED a way to expel sperm, masturbating is just one way of doing such. Failure to do so will result in many complications such as:
    1. Uncomfortable prostate
    2. Strangely colored seminal fluid and sperm (IF YOU SEE THIS SPEAK WITH YOUR UROLOGIST IMMEDIATELY AS IT COULD BE AN UNDERLYING ISSUE)
    3. Blue balling (You know.. that strange pain you feel in your testicles)
    4. Prostate cancer
    5. Various unhealthy mental states.
There are healthy affects as well such as in your terms 'not being a slave' to porn, which is a bad thing. but if you will be participating in nofap or these kinds of challenges it is quintessential to have an outlet. This doesn't have to be porn but it can be an alternative such as prostate milking (look it up if you are unaware of what it is). It is also vital to have an open connection to your urologist and to tell him/her about this so they can make sure you are healthy!

    So for the takeaway:
    • Masturbate/milk (or other alternatives) at least once every 2 weeks
    • Chat with your urologist frequently (Once a week at the very least)
    • Have a schedule to masturbate
Or just ignore what i say in place for your gospel.

EDIT: Wet dreams also don't quite do the trick as they don't happen frequently enough in men over 25.

Claiming to be a urologist in the comfort of internet anonymity is one thing, but it’s another thing to make such a carefree, one-sided assessment of an issue that you couldn’t possibly deny is abound with conflicted reports by the medical community. Maybe if you cited some studies from some credible medical journals, or anything other than “I’m a urologist and your way is wrong”, then you open the door for an honest dialogue. Until then, your word is no more valid than anything else on here you oppose.

Thank you for taking the time to refute my argument. Ill admit what i said was fairly one sided but nothing that i said cant be found from any credible source (such as mayo clinic and the New Zealand Medical Journal). But i never said you cant participate or what you said was wrong in any way i only listed way to be safe in this practice from my knowledge. After all yes this is the internet and i prefer to keep myself anonymous but sources do show what i say to be accurate, and most of this you should be doing anyways. Again i do open the door for honest dialogue because i do want to have a genuine conversation on this site for the betterment of the community. Thanks gain for responding mate :)

Edit: In my previous post I tried to look at this from an objective point of view, sorry if I made it a little objective there.

Thanks for this link. It is truly a mind-blowing article.

If the results are correct then pretty much ever type of sexual activity other than penile-vaginal intercourse (PVI) without a condom (!) is negatively correlated or neutral to different measures of satisfaction, happiness and health. And higher PVI frequency is correlated more positively than lower frequencies.

The near impossibility of AIDS infection through PVI is also quite striking.

Maybe religious teaching is firmly grounded in far more than just abstract morality... And maybe Catholics are spot on about condoms.

The thing is, you can find other medical conclusions, like the recent one by prostate cancer expert Richard Wassersug, PhD, that refutes any evidence of there being a true correlation between ejaculation frequency and health. From the information out there, at the very most, studies have shown that frequent ejaculation may correlate to prostate health.

For the record, I’m not actually arguing for one side or the other on the matter of ejaculation frequency. There’s just too much conflicting information. The point I’d like to make is that there is no way to know who’s got it right, or at the very least, who’s telling the truth. And on these forums which are primarily for porn/masturbation addicts, it doesn’t really benefit addicts by telling them it’s beneficial to entertain such urges with the backing of only one side of the story.
