Checking on on Day 1 of a PMO detox. I've done it before and I'll do it again. I need some distance from sexual intoxication to see my own life more clearer.

Mindfulness meditation. Trains your brain and mind to be able to ignore the urges. It teaches you how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. So then you can just sit with that pain, urge, anxiety, etc and be fine with it without needing to escape it. Also meditation literary makes some brain parts (such as prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for will power and rational thought) become thicker and grow bigger. So it's not just a mental thing, there are physical changes. It strengthens brain, like lifting weights at gym strengthens muscles.

This is method what I use. It's from Buddhist perspective but don't get turned off by it cos meditation is not religious or supernatural in any way. It's like using Yoga for stretching; it comes from Hinduism yet it is also good for physical health without all that spiritual stuff. Same for meditation. I'm not Buddhist myself either.
