Is my mind playing games with me?

I am a newbie, 18 days into my first ever reboot, and feeling better about myself than I have in years, like a light has just come on. Avoiding P and certain triggers have been relatively easy, but I obviously have to fight the urges. My confusion is here: When I'm fighting an urge (walks, showers, throwing myself into my work) there is a tiny voice inside that tells me that this is just another game I am playing, call it a deprivation game. It's like a little kid not taking no for an answer. Is this normal? I am being extra careful because of it.

Human beings crave sexual release, it's a part of who we are and can be a beautiful thing in love.
But that voice in your head is wanting the mimic of the real thing because the body wants that dopamine dump. I mean that's really what PMO is: the pursuit of a drug because it makes you feel good for a short time. There's nothing beautiful about just craving the drug, but the body doesn't realize that. So yes, you want the dopamine dose on a primal level. But from an emotional and mental level, do you really?
