Introduction

    Hi

    I'm new to the site, but 21 days into no P.

    I did M once and O another time with my partner (which felt great and was the first time in a couple of months). I have decided not to M anymore to make my partner my only experience of sex.

    I've always looked at porn as a quick fix, never something I spend hours on end doing, but it did start to destroy my sexual relationship with my partner. I used to look at it every day, but managed to quit for 3 months last year, then 2 months at the beginning of this year until the end of March when I slowly got back into it again.

    In the last relapse phase, I would look at it maybe every 2 or 3 days, but still not happy. Looking back it is usually stress-induced as it seems to spike when I have deadlines coming up, so I'm working on finding my triggers.

    In May, I was studying for an exam at home and every time I took a break I M'd (a lot!), but only looked at porn twice for short periods.

    The stress and anxiety of the problem, the importance of the exams I had coming up and the neglect of my partner's needs made me realise I need to stop for good. Since then, I have been anxious and had OCD behaviour type spikes.

    I have started practising mindfulness and doing more exercise as well as volunteer charity work, which is helping, but I'm hoping this community can give me the long-term support to get me beyond my previous two and three month pornless stints to FOREVER.
