Importance of taking a walk

    I`ve been quite lonely lately.

    What I`ve really found to help is getting outside the house and just putting one foot in front of another.

    Getting your body out of your house/room and into the world can do wonders

    Oh yeah, definitely. Anytime the body's expending energy in worthwhile activity is a good thing. Walks, or runs, are recommended.

    If only I could just get my fatass off the swivel chair...

    I totally agree Temujin. We really do much better when we're physically active. I think the couch potato is a very recent development :)

    True. Walks are great to kill stress and bad thoughts. Especially if you're a teen so there's always a friend of yours hanging around in town.

    I cannot reiterate how many times I wanted to PMO, but it resolved the moment I decided to step out of the house for a walk.

    Hell yeah. Walking in nature is even better than just walking around the city. Even just a park is relaxing compared to looking at buildings.

    Stepping away from the computer for a few minutes and going for a walk does wonders to get rid of an urge to have a wank.

    If I may add, for those of you with partners, walking together similarly helps a ton. My wife and I are always in a better place after a walk.

    I agree with this 100%. I discovered how much I enjoyed being out of the house just walking when I was unemployed. I forced myself to get out of the house every day and I would always feel better after coming back. There is also a reservoir about 20 miles away from my house where I try to go every weekend. It's a somewhat challenging hike, and it's 2.5 miles one way of just walking around in nature. I always get a "pick me up" when I go there, it's actually hard to be depressed when you just take in the beauty of nature. Plus it definitely sidelines those urges for when they flare up

  12. Totally agree. I've been pretty lonely lately as well and I like to walk around my nearest park while I listen to music. I'm too busy acting like a video game character who focuses on his feet lol.
