    Hi all,

I'm 33 and male. I've been thinking about it for ages, and trying hard on my own to be free from porn and fapping. But it's been 10 years now and still not free. Just found this forum and looks great. I'm inspired to go all the way and be free from this deadly grip on my life. But I need your help and support!

I started off when I was 17 by watching a porn movie, and then it was no turning back from there. For the first 5 years I didn't even realise there was something wrong. I only realised how I was caught in the grip when I tried to stop. It just felt (and still does) feel impossible. Almost feels like you are forced to masturbate and there's nothing you can do about it. I changed my contract to one without internet, but I would just find other ways of watching it. Finally I switched to a dumb phone, so I haven't watched porn for 3 months, but still can't stop thinking about the stuff I've watched for the last 10 years and can't stop masturbating. I hope I will be able to do better with this forum.

Thanks and looking forward to this journey!

    Hi mydayoff,

30, 60, 90 120 days of Nofap is no big deal. The big deal is what comes after no PMO period. That's why I don't use counters, web filters at cetera. If you have long term bad habit, you need to replace it with healthier one and if you where in 'a game of compulsive behaviour' for a decade or more, you need to seriously address your mental disorders (being COB, depression, anxiety or something else) and probably also lacking social skills, PMO is just a cover to 'ease your pain', just like alcohol or drugs are only a symptom, not a cause of ones addiction. Believe me, you have to change your life habits all together, if you want to get rid of PMO. Otherwise you may reach your timer goal and relaps big time after that, being sucked in the loop all over again or ever develop some chemical addiction to cover your pain. Been there, done that, unfortunately.

  3. Hey

    Very glad you are here.

When I arrived here, I was very confused by the program. So many terms, ideas, different opinions. I was in some ways as overwhelmed with NoFap as I was with pmo.

I found two things that helped me.

First, was reading up on the program and figuring out where to start and how to work my program. The best page is the one with the list of all the resources available.

    https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-users-list-of-rebooting-resources.50878/

That page explained the program. I read every article and watched all the videos on that page.

Next, was the community. By getting involved, reading people's posts, remembering to "like" the posts, reading the post not only in the forum, but on people's profiles, I found a great group of people.

This is a diverse community. We have religious people and secular ones. There are men and women. People with months of no pmo and those just starting out. As well, there are many different approaches to remove porn from our lives forever.

Keep reading posts and profiles. You will find someone who is telling your own story. Keep posting your own story, someone needs to read it.

Looking forward to reading many more posts from you,

    L

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

  5. One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals. Click "Watch Thread" in the upper right to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.

Hi, I have already started meditation and yoga, and am a bit of a reader, so I am trying to get into philosophical books..... also thinking of exercise regularly and Tai Chi. What things did you do?
