Hello, I am new to this site and want to network with some people who are having the same problem with porn addiction. Woah, did I really just say that? Yes, I am a porn addict and like most members of this site I have decided that enough is enough and I need to do something about it. NOW.

I am a mid 40's guy with an awesome wife and two great kids. I have everything to live for and lots to do with work, family, friends and hobbies etc. I cringe at the amount of hours I must have spent over the years mindlessly staring at my monitor while my brain slowly deteriorates and I engage in behaviors that I would have thought were beneath me before this all started. It took me a long time to admit that I have a problem as everything on the surface is fine. But its not.

Not sure how much to type on this first introduction. So I will leave it there and hope to strike up some healthy conversations with other people in the same situation.

Welcome aboard. I am also now in my 40s. I have been a porn addict for 20 years. Maybe longer than that. As you know, the 90s was an up-and-coming time for the Internet, so you and I were probably not addicted to Internet porn in our teens like a lot of people on the site were. That may be an advantage for us. But we still have a problem, but it is solvable. We just have to keep working. I recommend reading this site, a lot of the success stories, some of the relapse stories, and starting a journal. If you relapse or reset, don't beat yourself up. Just pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and keep going. It may take a few times of this for it to work. But eventually it does. There is a lot of recovery on the site. Welcome.
